You Have the Right to Remain Ready for Trivia!
Thursday night’s game touched on a wide array of different subjects, including farm animals, music videos, and we topped it off with a little Broadway! We had some great crowds tonight, which means that many folks wanted to get one last game in before the holiday. There were a number of teams who rolled through tonight’s set without any wrong answers, but which teams had the highest scores of the night?
THURSDAY’S STATS AND FACTS (49 teams across six venues):
–> Highest Overall Score: Blue Collar (Quincy’s) with 170
–> Highest Score after Round 4: Power Vacuum (Champion Billiards) with 162
–> Highest First Half Score: Breadsticks (Quincy’s) with 89
–> Perfect 21 (correct on all wagers and final): Power Vacuum (Champion Billiards), Blue Collar (Quincy’s), Clever Team Name (Quincy’s), Lowered Expectations (Quincy’s), The Fan Club (Quincy’s), Your Mom (Bunker Sports), Thundercats (Bunker Sports)
–> The halftime page played slightly more difficult than normal, with an average score of 15.2. There must have one or two very difficult answers, as there were NO perfect scores. Breadsticks topped the field with 19 at halftime.
TONIGHT’S FINAL QUESTION (74.0% success rate):
–> What is the shared last name among the following three people:
1) The Brazilian samba singer and actress who appeared in the films “That Night in Rio” and “Down Argentine Way”.
2) The Phoenix resident who won a landmark U.S. Supreme Court case in 1966.
3) The musician who won the Tony Award for Best Original Score in 2008 for the musical “In the Heights”.

Champion Billiards in Frederick, MD
Booyah! Man, it’s been awhile since we had a good Booyah! I had fun tonight, some new teams and familiar faces made for a good mix of good times. Laughter, cheers and some drawn out sighs after missing questions you shouldn’t have missed!
The final wasn’t much of a change in the leaderboard, in 3rd it was FNQ (It must have been the dancing!), while 2nd went to Just Good Enough and 1st was Power Vacuum! Even a couple people down, they were a force to be reckoned with. I will not see you for Thanksgiving, but we will be back in two weeks for a first question of The History of Physics. Tantalizing. Have a good holiday!

Bunker Sports Cafe in Leesburg, VA
It was a fine and not too terribly cold Thursday down here in Leesburg for another edition of PHT here at Bunker. Some faces we haven’t seen for awhile returned to play tonight thankfully now that softball is over, welcome back! There was nothing too tough to deal with in the first round, though we did blank everyone on the 1st commissioner of the ABA at the conclusion of the 2nd. I found out thanks to the 6-4-2 that I am older than Batman. It took a tie-breaker to settle the 1st and 2nd place. Have a happy Thanksgiving and I’ll see you in two weeks. Here are the results:
First Place: Your Mom
Second Place: Thundercats
Third Place: Cranius Maximus
NO GAME NEXT WEEK – First category on Dec. 1: Beer

Links at Challedon in Mount Airy, MD
Tonight at the Links, we had a close game all the way until the final question was asked. The crowd’s favorite question tonight involved a certain ‘Challenge’ which has become a recent internet sensation, especially among athletes, involving remaining perfectly still while being videotaped. That answer was ‘The Mannequin Challenge’! Which at one point everyone shared their favorite one! The end we had Balls Out winning the game, while in second we had The Sharpies. Taking third place was the Italian Stallions.
Until next time,
~ Devan
NO GAME NEXT WEEK – First category on Dec. 1: “The Real Housewives of Orange County”
Fish Market in Alexandria, VA
It was the last night of trivia at Fish Market before the holidays start, and it looked like we had a good chunk of people who needed to come out and get their trivia fix in before it all started! We saw some new teams, some regulars, everything set for a good match! Round 1 seemed quite tame, no one missing anything major. Round 2 had some bite however with EVERY SINGLE TEAM missing the Jungle Book question, connecting to terms used in Cub Scouts.
After the first half, Ant Farm Keyboard led at the half and did NOT slow down from there. They had the highest score on the halftime page, breezed through the 3rd round, and looked to add on the 6-4-2. No teams knew the 6 and EVERYONE got the 4, so no change there. AFK would breeze through round 4 as well, holding a commanding 16 point lead going into the final.
As we know at PHT, a 16 point lead is a “cannot be caught” situation, so AFK would take down the win tonight after a very well played game! Going into the final, Uncle Tito was 2nd and Smalls in 3rd BUT those places were NOT safe, as BOTH of them MISSED the final! Jump into the $$$ standings for newcomers Backstreet Boys and our regulars Pitt Duq! Good game all! Back in TWO WEEKS, have a good Thanksgiving!

Guido’s in Frederick, MD
Our Thursday night game of trivia at Guido’s Speakeasy was just as competitive as it was fun to watch unfold! It was a really close game for the most part, but as we got through the 3rd and 4th rounds, only the top four teams would have a chance (points-wise)at being in the final 3 after the final. Once the answers were in, this is who made the cut… Finishing in 3rd was Spitters are Quitters, 2nd went to T.N.C., and back in the 1st place spot was Unathletico Madrid!! We will be OFF next week for Thanksgiving, so when we reconvene here in two weeks, the winners choice pick will be “The W.W.E. Royal Rumble”, so study up, have a VERY Happy Thanksgiving, and I’ll see everyone back here in 2 weeks at Guido’s Speakeasy!!
