You Dropped a (Jager) Bomb On Me!

Our winning teams were in the mood to drink some shots after answering Monday’s final question correctly, as we welcomed 97 teams across 12 PHT venues on Monday night:

FIRST ROUND:

Monday’s opening round questions touched on the TV work of Michael J. Fox, the recently discovered moons of Jupiter, and MLB relocations.  We closed with a three-part question concerning these contemporary novels:

Books

Eleven teams began their night with a perfect first round score.

SECOND ROUND:

After we began the second round with some karaoke music, we stumped many of our teams with this question on the topic of comedy film sequels:

–> Who is the only cast member from the film “Caddyshack” to reprise their role in the poorly received sequel “Caddyshack II”?

In what is likely to be the most regrettable film role of his career, Chevy Chase reprised his role as golfer Ty Webb:

Caddyshack

Serving as proof that virtually no one has actually seen this film, only 27% of our teams answered correctly.  Five teams managed to avoid this speed bump and record a perfect score of 36 points in the second round.

HALFTIME:

NFL teams and Fox TV series highlighted Mondays halftime page, which featured five perfect scores and an overall average of 15.7 points.  Monday’s halftime leaderboard featured the following teams:

THIRD ROUND:

The questions in Monday’s third round proved to be easier than expected, with many teams earning wagering points on all five questions.  Our teams had an easy time with topics such as number-one hit songs and the film roles of actress Michelle Williams.  Even a question regarding this masterpiece saw many teams earn bonus points by naming both the painter (Francisco Goya) and its current location (Museo del Prado):

Goya

In a break from the norm, nine teams earned perfect third round scores.

FOURTH ROUND:

After a look at Kobe Bryant in the 6-4-2 question, we dashed the hopes of many teams hoping for a perfect fourth round score with this zoological question:

–> Ruminants are mammals that are able to acquire nutrients from plant-based food by fermenting it in a specialized stomach prior to digestion.  What African animal is the largest ruminant on earth?

As the most difficult wagering question of the night, only 19% of the field came away with points here by turning in the correct answer of giraffe.  Our teams rebounded nicely with questions regarding the Ottoman Empire, bocce ball, and the TV series “Northern Exposure”, but none of our teams managed to run the table in the final round.  These were your highest scoring Monday teams after four rounds of play:

MONDAY’S FINAL QUESTION (50.0% success rate):

–> Which product featuring 56 herbs, fruit extracts, and spices has been manufactured in Wolfenbüttel, Germany since 1935?

Exactly half of our teams responded correctly with Jagermeister.  Congratulations to Unsavories (DRP) and I Don’t Know Who (Morgan Inn), who were the only Monday teams to record correct answers on all wagering questions to earn the Perfect 21.  Here is your final Monday leaderboard:
