Windy and frozen on consecutive Pour House Pub Trivia Thursdays!

​​Pour House pub trivia’s Thursday was bitterly cold for the second week in a row – you’ve got to watch out for those wind chills, they can be brutal!

If you’re out there in the cold today, be safe; it’s going to be BRUTAL.

What a lovely day for a flat tire! Thanks to everyone at Bunker for your patience as I got a few things sorted out before we played a little live trivia! Here are the results of tonight’s game:

Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD

Remember that time my hair froze on the way in to Champions for trivia night?!?! It was fo’sho a nasty cold that was biting last night! That said though, the love, and energy, and fun that we throw down at Champions certainly warms it on up enough to overcome Jack and hist antics (Jack Frost).

16 teams braved the elements and came on out to hang with us for some trivia, Thursday style! My fav questions of the night look like this:

1. James Brown singing “Living in America” – heeyeeyey!!!! You can’t be cold while listening to JB baby!

2. Patrick Star of David – new symbol for Judaism in the works?

3. I loved the final tonight! It was Wrigley FTW! It was a toughie and shook things up for sure.

After the bubble burst though (Wrigley reference – hey its what I do) our Top 3 Leader Board emerged! And what a battle it was. It was close all night with ties every round. But after the final, it looked like this:

And that’s how we do it on an 11 Below Zero Night in Frederick, MD my friends! Thanks for coming out and playing everyone! While you are all bundled up and cozy this weekend, make some time to watch some “Big Bang Theory” episodes. Just Good Enough have asked to refresh for the start of next week’s game!

Fish Market – Alexandria, Virginia

And we eclipse the double digits in the number of teams tonight, which seems to be a regular trend being set at the Fish Market. Another great game of pub quiz tonight! It’s a shame, I didn’t see anyone at the party at Chez Bill (if you’re reading this with my voice in your head, I pronounced it “cheese” to recreate the awful joke I made earlier)… Maybe next time.

Though Boner Garage took turns flip flopping the lead with Two Birds One Stone tonight, it was Two Birds who held the top spot going into the final question. Only one team was able to come up with the correct response on the final, and that team was Two Birds, who secured the victory with that one. Boner Garage missed it and dropped to 3rd place because of a defensive wager by That’s Not My Leg, who takes 2nd place tonight. Two Birds wins it, without the heart and soul of their team, Allison. In her honor, they chose Famous Allisons for their Winner’s Choice category next week. They say she’ll be thrilled to hear it, but I sensed a major dose of sarcasm though. Looks like I’ve got some Allison-stalking to do. Not her, just the famous ones. Hopefully you all will be back to join us next week for another game! Until then guys, take it easy, keep warm, and have a good weekend 😉

Guido’s – Frederick, MD

I thought it was cold out on Wednesday, but last night was absolutely FRIGID! Even with the cold, I was happy to see the turnout we had at Guido’s for trivia!

Teams were fighting back and forth for the top 3 spots, but once the final question was answered, this is the top 3 fell into place. Finishing 3rd was the Dewey Decimators! Having a rough start in round one but still coming back to take 2nd place was Stink Floyd! Your game winners for the night are enjoying their second 1st place finish in a row, Not Quite White!!

They picked “Current Frederick City Politics” (have fun with THAT one Denny and Matt), so study up and hopefully it will be a little warmer out next Thursday night at Guido’s Speakeasy!!

Main Street Oyster House -Bel Air, MD

We had a great turn out with a few new teams.

I don’t want to use the word “dynasty” just yet, but Clever Team Name is certainly building in that direction. They were the clear winner tonight,

My props tonight go to 2 teams. First, The Kiwi’s who were dead last at one point, but pulled into 3rd to take a prize. I als have to say I love seeing the Anal Bum Covers play. They are a family: Mom, Dad, 2 daughters and they always play together. That is a really cool thing to see. So kudos to them for making a family night out of Pour House Pub Trivia, and thanks for letting me be a part of it!

Next weeks Winner’s choice: The Wire!

Quincy’s – Gaithersburg, Maryland

Well, at least the trivia was hot inside Quincy’s in Gaithersburg on Thursday night.  The first half ended with seven teams within one point of each other at the top of the leaderboard.  We had some separation in the second half, but it was the final question that made the difference.  Your Mom was one of the few teams to get the final, and they leap-frogged several teams to take home their first win of the season!  Great job!  Blue Collar led all night but had to settle for second, with The Crew taking third.  Next week begins with a question on STDs (no picture).  ~ Matt
