Wickedly close to Halloween on this fine Wednesday with Pour House Trivia!
Pour House pub trivia‘s Wednesday had some AWESOME showings in the costume department! Some really great work from a lot of you guys out there; keep it up tomorrow! Check out the games (and costumes!) below!
Applebees – Frederick, MD
Happy Halloween everybody! We had quite the spooky scary game of trivia tonight at Applebee’s, complete with ghoulies and ghosties, playing “guess the spice” (More Human Than Cumin was a great guess) and even a tiny bit of song on the mic by yours truly! Blue Mooooooon! Taking down the win was One Crow Short of a Murder, with The Variables grabbing second as a duo. In third we had That’s What You Get For Thinking also playing as a duo. Thanks for coming out and playing everybody. Next week we have a fun opening category, One Crow picked “Chad Sings Justin Timberlake (He’s my boy!) Through the Ages” as their winner’s choice, so I guess it’s time for me to get studying on my lyrics, and time for you all to get to listening to all his great stuff! Until next time, Chad

Down to the wire at the World Series and down to the wire at Barefoot Bernies bar trivia extravaganza! It all came down to that last question, as a good game of pub trivia night should! And after negotiating a haunted house-like set of trivia questions, we had ourselves one heck of a game go down! Just like a good haunted house, this set was filled with trap doors, dentist drills, and scary meanies! Our Top 3 were brave all the way through, even when Justin Bieber jumped out at the end with the chainsaw! Congratulations y’all! Great game against some tough Halloween competition! 
Bennigan’s – Clarksburg, Maryland
The final proved to be difficult tonight; only one team got it right (Spret) but were too far out of it to place in the top 3. That being said, your winners tonight are Erotic Friend Fiction! EFF came in tonight as a duo, dressed up in their Halloween best, and took down the win pretty soundly, holding onto the lead throughout most of the game. Great game guys! Uncle Jack took 2nd place, Anderson Cooper? took 3rd. A big thanks AND congratulations to all of those who dressed up for Halloween tonight! A huge congratulation to Kara who won the Costume Contest tonight dressed up as Sexy Hamburglar (because if you’re a girl, any costume you wear for Halloween gets the adjective “sexy” added, though I did tell Kyle that his costume was “Sexy Plague Doctor” so I guess it can work both ways, haha). Honorable mention award going to John from Uncle Jack who looked awesome as Fidel Castro (or “Sexy Fidel” as I’m sure he would’ve wanted it). Great times were had by all; I’m sure the great times will continue to roll next week when we are back from trivia, same time, same place! Oh Cellar. I can’t believe you’ve been lying to me all these years; You’re all Nascar fans! Or really, really good guessers. Whatever. Heheh. We had quite a few new faces tonight, and quite a bit of breakable things! Luckily we all made it out alive and no maiming! The final lined up in a rather interesting fashion with people trying to out strategize (Yup, not a word) each other. For some it worked and for some it just fizzled. In 3rd it was the well named, Pardon Me, Would you Like Your Caviar Fertilized? I tell ya guys, you’re moving on up! In 2nd was Constantly Changing Team Name who were so excited that they headed to celebrate without grabbing their prize! Good thing I know I’ll see them next week. Orr top place tonight went to the intelligent Donner Party who made the very smart wager of zero on that final. I still can’t believe I had to say Justin Bieber for that answer. That was painful. I was slightly scared going into my final round of live trivia tonight at the Olney Tavern. After the 6-4-2 question I had a 3 way tie for 2nd place!! I figured I was going to have multiple tie breakers but round 4 magically worked out all the ties for me! (although, a couple of teams didn’t feel it as magic; more like a curse.) So with no ties, this is how tonight ended: finishing 3rd tonight was Olney the Lonely! In 2nd was Team Gryffindor! Your game winners also took home the swag bag of Shocktop toys: Les Quizzerables!!! They decided on “Disney Movies” for next weeks winners choice question, so study up and get out to the Olney Tavern next Wednesday night!! 6:30 sign-ups/ 7:00 game time!! ~ Jon J
T. J. Stone’s – Alexandria, VA
After a week off, our powerhouse team Wee Baby Seamus was back at T.J. Stone’s to continue their winning streak, and they did just that with a wire-to-wire victory, including the correct answer on the final! Gone Squatchin’ jumped three spots with a correct answer on the final to take second, and Trivia Newton John took third thanks to the strategic zero wager (which came in handy on a topic like that). Next week, we’ll begin with a question on NES Games! ~ Matt
Great game of pub trivia at Valley Grill Sports Bar and it was the final question and some serious wagering that settled it all! Your Mom’s a Horcrux was our winners tonight with a strategic zero wager, while Southpaw Fish went ALL IN to get themselves up to 2nd! Brain Freeze wagered smartly and secured a 3rd place showing.
