Who wants to be a Pour House Pub Trivia Winner? Wednesday recap!

Pour House pub trivia‘s Wednesday seemed to have the letter “B” on the brain, what with Bedlam, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Bedouin, Black Hole AND Be Kind Rewind all in one round of trivia! I might have to grab my pogs out of my parents attic – anyone wanna play for keeps? I’ve got a doozy of a slammer to bust out! Check out the games!

Atlantic Grille – Urbana, MD

It seems that the curse (blessing) of sex puns and pub trivia followed me to Atlantic Grille in Urbana πŸ˜› The big lesson of tonight’s game: If you experience a running of the balls, you should probably visit the New York Sack Exchange. ‘Nuff said. πŸ˜› Other topics of interest included that time someone asked Guy Fawkes to be kind and rewind, Clarissa Darling playing POGs with Taylor Lautner (was he even alive in the 90s?), and our tribute to Mitch Hedberg :)Strangers Have the Best Candy continued their domination streak tonight with Baby Got Pratt taking second and Momzilla rounding out third. I’m so ferklempt – next week’s category is Eric does SNL’s Coffee Talk :)See ya next week!- Eric πŸ˜€

We kicked off the Fall 2014 bar trivia season Bernies style Wednesday night! And that means a fine game of trivia in great company – made up of some veteran crews and a few folks we haven’t seen in a bit. The trivia set this evening was stocked up with some fun questions – some whammies, some zingers, and some great cameos of folks I haven’t thought about in a minute…Abdul Salaal, Danny Glover, and Wink Martindale come to mind πŸ™‚ wink martindale Trivia Pour House Pub Trivia Maryland
And we got to see one of our old school bartender friends come make a live cameo, Ms. Samelia filled in for Danielle tonight, who decided going to Outer Banks would be a fun thing to do…I know right? You did a wonderful job SQ…don’t make it another 3 years girl πŸ™‚ The game tonight was a neck and neck battle between “I Do My killing After Breakfast,” and “Adrian Peterson – Branch Manager” (one of my new faves BTW…LOL). Those two were grappling for position the whole game. The problem was, that Thinkers & Dreamers stayed in striking distance. And they did just that on a tough Walt Disney final question. While many went Fantasia, it was good ole’ Mary Poppins for the win! Congrats Thinkers & Dreamers – well played game tonight! And congrats as well to “Adrian Peterson – Branch Manager,” and  “I Do My Killing After Breakfast,” who did manage to pop the 2 and 3 spots! I do thank you all for coming out and playing. And I hope to see you next Wednesday as Season 10 continues. We will kick that game off with a question in the category of “Wheel of Time” (Book). Have a great week and weekend and I will see you soon…dg πŸ™‚ Wheel of time Trivia Pour House Pub Trivia Maryland

Bennigan’s – Clarksburg, Maryland

Tonight’s game of live trivia went saw the lead flip flop quite a bit but in the end it was Erotic Friend Fiction who took down the victory! 2nd place went to Uncle Jack who jumped up from 3rd. Third place was taken by Anderson Cooper? who decided to bet defensively on the final (though they still managed a correct response). We’re a bit into the season and the standings are fairly close. Be sure to check out where you place on our website! Thanks again, we’ll see you all back next week!1st Place: Erotic Friend Fiction 2nd Place: Uncle Jack 3rd Place: Anderson Cooper? The Cellar Door – Frederick, MD

Oh man, did it feel good to be back on the mic up here at Cellar! And what a game of live trivia! That pesky last question changed it all yet again. One Crow had lead all day and with one wager they fell from the heights! It was the new team of Mummified Foreskin (Classy!) who took first tonight: now that’s impressive. 2nd went to Team Wednesday who were pretty excited with it and 3rd went to the the sneaky Neverending Moaterboaters. Thanks for such a good time, I will see you next week for another round! First question will be Kings of Leon. ~Samantha Kings of Leon Trivia Pour House Pub Trivia

The Olney Tavern – Olney, MD

The silliness was turned up a little on this evening of pub trivia, which featured SWAG all over the place! Thanks again to the Tavern for giving us some stuff to give away. My favorite wrong answers of the night:

  • The Investors of Doom as the D-line of the Jets!
  • Bupkis Juice Caps-A-Palooza – you guys’ve never heard of Pogs!?

Only the Lonely took home third place tonight after an up and down game. We had a very strong round played by Les Quizerables, impressively as a SOLO player! Though he fell just one point short of a victory, it was still a great night! The winners were I Just Quizzed in my Pants, who have chosen  Joe Dirt (A CLASSIC!) for next week’s first category! Revolution Bar – Fairfax, Virginia

Despite the rain tonight, we had a fun night at the Revolution Bar, with some new teams and veterans duking it out for the podium!

Highlights of the night:
Halftime revealed one of the closest games I’ve ever seen; the top four teams were separated from one another by a point each! The scoreboard read 80-81-82-83! Would that hold for the whole game?
The puzzle page was another close match; the range of scores was only 17-19! I couldn’t believe how close things were!
Then, just to make things even more interesting, EVERYONE earned 6 points on the 6-4-2! It was unreal!
But the final round and the final question became the determining factors, and correct answers meant everything!
In third place, Team GT80 Sauce! The newcomers are quickly getting the hang on the game, but tonight missed the final. Still, good job guys!
In second, by one point came Mess and Jegg! So close guys, well done!
But Movin’ on Up would not be unseated and held firm for the top spot! Congratulations guys, great game!
Next week, Moving on Up has chosen the popular TV Show, the Big Bang Theory as their first round category! Get studying guys!
Until then,

T. J. Stone’s – Alexandria, VA

Ten teams rolled into T.J. Stone’s on Wednesday night, including a few faces we had not seen for a long time.  After four rounds, it was very close at the top of the standings, as our top three teams were separated by just two points heading into the final.  But when only one of those three was able to come up with the correct response, it gave us a clear winner on the night, and that was My Favorite Team.  Trivia Nwton John also hit the final to jump up a few spots into second, followed by the B-58s.  Next week begins with an inconceivable question on “The Princess Bride”.  ~ Matt

Valley Grill – Middletown, MD

Thanks again to everyone for making it another fun night of pub trivia at the Valley Grill here in Middletown! Fat Kids are Hard to Kidnap was our winners in our game, great job. It took a tie breaker to settle 2nd and 3rd, with Your Mom’s a Horcrux and Capt. Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters finishing in that order respectively! Our first category for next week is Batman. ~ Ronnie Batman trivia pour house pub trivia
