What a Wednesday with Pour House Pub Trivia!
Pour House pub trivia‘s Wednesday had ten fabulous games of live trivia!
We criscrossed Maryland and Virginia to bring you the best of the pub quiz action; check it out!
Applebees – Frederick, MD
Oh man, tonight’s game ended up being absolutely ridiculous. All I know is that the Burt Reynolds question will live on in infamy for a long time. Almost every team immediately answered that he posed nude for Playgirl and bet the farm. Unfortunately, when the multiple choice options were read, Playgirl wasn’t even on the list. The reaction to that was hilarious, almost as bad as me pranking the whole room by pretending MLK Jr. wasn’t the answer to the Nobel Peace Prize winner question.
Either way, even with these shenanigans the game was still a good one, and the final caused a bit of a shakeup, although not too big. Taking third place after pulling out Episcopalian was the Carolina Reapers. Our second place team lost a member at halftime but still held strong, nice job Dalek Dance Party! Our winners hadn’t been to Applebee’s in awhile, but making a triumphant return is We’re Going To Need A Bigger Boat! Congrats! We start next week off with a question about the TV show Better Call Saul! It’s only eight episodes, so studying up should be rather simple. Good luck to any teams going to playoffs or the pub crawl, and I’ll see you all next week!

WHAT A GAME of livetrivia tonight at Barefoot Bernies! WOW! I don’t even know where to start! Going into the game we had a neck and neck race for House Champion. Both teams were jockeying for the top slot going into the final question. And after the Burt Reynolds thing happened, We’re Here So We Don’t Get Fined, catapulted to a big lead.
That question will go down in the annals of PHT questions!
BUT then that President final hit and we had ourselves one of the best trivia games of the season go down! First off, I’d like to thank everyone for playing this season. And I wish all of you the best of luck in the post season festivities! Congrats to our Top 3 tonight and to Sad, Fat, Dragons who earned the title of House Champions at Barefoot Bernies with their win tonigh – their first season playing I might add! WOW! That is no easy feat by any means. Much props SFD!
So thanks again everyone for hangin’ with me on Wednesday nights for trivia night! I very much enjoy my travels to Hagerstown and look forward to Wednesdays every week!
We are ON for next week at Bernies. It is good warm-up for the Summer Season. We’ll have some fun and maybe I will splash the pot with a little extra somen-somen! We’ll kick that game off with “Famous Dragons,” in honor of the Sad, Fat, Dragons win!

I believe we can agree as a company that tonight will go down in history as the “Burt Reynolds Fiasco”… I don’t know the exact stats of the other venues tonight, but at my bar, I had 80% of the teams go early for the 2 point bonus on the Burt Reynolds question, drop the 9 on it, and miss it… Only My Drinking Team has a Trivia Problem able to net ANY points on that question. It was truly epic to see the looks on the faces of the crowd as I read the post-bonus multiple choice answers. Most teams went Playgirl for 9 and it cost em. As Season 11 wraps up, our final game saw most of our veteran teams trying to win one last time before the post-season. We had My Favorite Team, Axl’s Doghouse, Just the Tip, to name a few of our competitors. Even after the round 4 fiasco, My Favorite Team held a lead going into the final question. That lead was not tarnished by our final so tonight’s winners, the final game of the season, are your Season 11 House Champions My Favorite Team! 2nd place went to Knock Knock and 3rd to My Drinking Team has a Trivia Problem. Great way to finish out. Good luck at the playoffs and World Series! We’ll be back next week with another weekly game, maybe come on out, grab a beer, and tell me about your playoff experiences. Plus, the extra practice can’t hurt for those of you that qualify for the World Series! Hoping to have you all back next week, until then guys 😉

Yes, Cellar- it’s true, we are counting down our final days before the playoffs, world series and before we move to our new home on Wednesday nights. Next week I will let you know where we are moving our shenanigans to since Cellar is headed in a new direction for Wednesday nights. Talking about shenanigans- How about that Burt Reynolds question?! Talk about a nude Burt Reynolds and everyone gets all crazy. 2nd place used it to springboard themselves in to 1st place but they had too many players on the field so 1st place went to Team Wednesday, 2nd to 2 live clue 2 and 3rd was Constantly Changing Team name. Nice game! Was also nice to award house champs to 2 live clue 2:Need a bigger butt! They fought a helulva good fight for the title this time around!
Next week will be our final night in the underground and we will start out with a question about Famous Sam’s… I like it. 🙂 Come hang out with me!

Memories Charcoal House – Mount Airy, MD
The heat was REALLY on tonight at Memories Charcoal House as our teams geared up for our post-season playoffs this weekend. It was a packed house and the scoreboard had everyone on edge.
We even had a couple of sing-alongs to ease the tensions. Ultimately, after a killer final and a side of Burt Reynolds you never want to see, it was Half a Brain that stole the third place spot with one of only correct final answers, wagering it all for the steal!! In second place, just ahead of them, was Stone Cold Jane Austen with imaginary bonus points for leading the sing-alongs!! But not to be dethroned were tonight’s winners and HOUSE CHAMPIONS: THE EXPERIENCED VIRGINS!! Congratulations you guys!!!
Their choice of first category for our final game before the World Series: Mental Illnesses. See you next week!

The Olney Tavern – Olney, MD
Tonight, we had an INTENSE game of pub trivia at the Tavern!
Team Gryffindor and I Just Quizzed In My Pants were separated by only 2 points, so it came down to tonight’s game to find out who was going to be this seasons House Champion!
Drum roll please: Moving up from 5th after the final question to finish 3rd tonight was Olney The Lonley! Now for the juicy part. By finishing in 2nd tonight, they also finish 2nd in the standings: Team Gryffindor!! With the 1st place victory tonight, I would like to introduce the Taverns Season 11 House Champions, I Just Quizzed in My Pants!!
They picked 2015 Seattle Mariners for next Wednesdays “preseason” Summer Fling game. Congratulations to all of the teams who made the postseason and good luck to everyone in the playoffs this Saturday, I’ll see you at the Tavern next week!!

Tonight’s game of Pour House Trivia at the Revolution Bar was a wild
and hot one, that had only somewhat to do with a naked Burt Reynolds.
Highlights of the Night:
In “Jack-Sparrow-Was-A-Rolling-Stone”: Everyone knew that Johnny Depp
based Jack Sparrow on a Rolling Stone. However, there were far too
many Micks out there!
In “Is-There-A-Doctor-In-The-House?”: There are a startling number of
people in my bar who do not have the normal 12 pairs of ribs humans
usually have. Might wanna get that checked out!
In “Oh-Dear-God-My-Eyes”: When literally everyone in the bar runs up
to answer Playgirl in the first 5 seconds, I had to double check.
Google of course had to show me the image. I’m not sure how I’m gonna
sleep tonight…
The final was a doozy with some defensive wagers mixing things up.

To say it was a bit of a topsy-turvy game at T.J. Stone’s in Alexandria is a bit of an understatement. We closed out Season XI with a wild finish. Two Girls and an Idiot managed to sneak into the lead in the last round despite missing their nine point wager. I guess it helped that five other teams did the same thing! Anyway, they snagged the final and held on for their first win of the season. Great job! Second place went to Future Bachelorettes, and our third place team tonight was our Season XI House champions for the second season in a row: Did You Miss Us? There is still trivia next week, so come back for a game that will start with a question on John Hughes films. ~ Matt
Valley Grill – Middletown, MD
That was one EPIC game of live trivia here at Valley Grill Sports Bar tonight, we had THREE teams in the running for House Champions, and oddly enough it was Burt Reynolds that broke open the game!
