November’s First Tuesday of Trivia Was Jammin’!
Pour House pub trivia‘s Tuesday had SEVEN games of live trivia action!
We covered everything under the sun, so check out the games!
Capitol City Brewing Company – Arlington, VA
It was a record-setting night at Capitol City Brewing in Arlington! Ramparting Ways (tonight playing as “Ross Perot 2016”) was in amazing form. They stormed out of the gate with a perfect first half, and only missed one two-pont bonus on the home stretch. After round four, they stood at a whopping 170 points! Even with a comfortable lead over second place, they decided to risk at all, in hopes of setting a new single-game PHT scoring record. The final question was a tough one, but U.S. history is their wheelhouse, and so they took it down without a problem. A new record of 182 points! Fantastic! It might be a long time before anyone approaches that number! On any other night, scoring in the 170s might be enough for a win, but for Capitol City Goofballs and Title One Forever, they’ll have to settle for second and third place. So, next week, we’ll start with a question on Third Party Presidential Candidates. ~ Matt
Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD
Babystar gallatica! New hit show, I like it. 🙂
Lots of fun at Champions tonight – Even a few instances of full on cheering! You almost scared me on the final answer reveal!
The ones who were scared (and for good reason) were Off in Public, they lost to Wiseacres in a tiebreaker for 3rd. 2nd went to the Castaways who vehemently stated that it was the deep fried (meat)balls that drove them to a podium place. 1st tonight was no question. BTI has taken over Champions. Crazy good game tonight fellas!
Next week we will start with Austin Powers:International Man of Mystery! Groovy baby 😉
See you then!

Cugini’s Restaurant – Poolesville, MD
That was a crazy game of live trivia at Cuginis, even without “police intervention.” LOL.
Leader board for the game moved all over, with a nice come back for a couple of teams that missed a bonus chip or two!
Here is how the game ended up: Lightfoot took 1st, Drunk N Disorderly in 2nd, and a nice comeback by MoMo for 3rd.
Join me again next week, where our first category will be The Princess Bride.

Hollywood Casino – Perryville, MD
Happy Election Day to everybody! Hosting at Hollywood Casino is always fun, and tonight was no different.
It was a close race to the finish for tonight’s game, but the winner of the game ended up being the Gorams being a bit too difficult to catch, and earning themselves a nice win. In second place we had If We Only Had A Brain making another appearance at Hollywood Casino, and the American Outlaws took third place. Nice work to everybody and thanks for coming out!
Next week’s opening category, courtesy of the Gorams, is Pixar films!
Jekyll & Hyde Tavern – Frederick, MD
Awesome final night of live trivia at Jekyll & Hyde’s Tavern–we’ll be sad to see you go!
In third were the Know-Nothin’s taking home a prize! In second was Black Steel!! Our grand prize winners of the evening were TBH!!
No category. See you soon at a PHT Venue near you!
Torrie
Markham’s – Bethesda, MD
It was our craziest night yet at Markham’s, and if you’ve been following the goings on here, you’ll know that’s saying something! With the most teams we’ve seen pack in all season, tonight’s competition was fiercer than ever and it would take plenty of correct answers and cunning wagering to take the top spots!
Highlights of the night:
You know things are crazy when one team spends 30 seconds after hearing an answer arguing about it, even though they got it RIGHT. Intensity level is HIGH!
In second place, the Chronic Underachievers! Great game guys, well done!
Monkey La La – Frederick, MD
I remember in college my friends and I had a party and thought doing Ouzo shooters would be the coolest thing since…well…doing Mad Dog shooters. Admittedly, it was cooler than Mad Dog 20/20, but uhh…yah…no! Don’t get me wrong, its not horrible, but anything in multiples with a licorice flavor does NOT sit well! Memories though… memories 🙂
It was also fun to “Anise Liquor” all night though! 😉
Thanks for indulging in our trivia nightlife at Monkey La La Tuesday my friends! As always, it was great fun! It was pretty steady all night with a very close game going into the final, and then…THE FINAL HIT! Everyone cast their vote for the president and once the ballots were tallied, we had a bit of a snow globe in the Top 3. Great game of trivia everyone! And congrats to our Top 3…it looked like this:
And that was an election day of trivia at La La baby! Thank you again for coming out to play y’all. Have a great rest of your week and tune in next Tuesday – we kick off with “Cream – the band,” trivia! Til then…be well~! dg
