UGA the Bulldog is a real tough doggy! Tuesday’s round of pub trivia brings us a dose of literature at six venues!

A night full of whimsy and wonder for this pre-ice storm Tuesday evening set of pub trivia games!

We had dozens of teams stepping away from their Candy Crush Saga addictions to crush some trivia questions on the way to valuable prizes – read on for the recap of the night’s events!

Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD

I am impressed! I had quite a few teams sneak in a game tonight at Champs before the weather got bad.

It was a good game marked by a challenging puzzle page! You all held in there though, and after a slightly disturbing final answer, it was Wiseacres for the win! Nice job!

In second were the Thundercats and third went to the strategic gentlemen of We Made a Huge Mistake!

Nice job, I will see you after all the snow crap is over (next week, it had better be done by then!) for a first category of Andrew Lloyd Weber! Stay Safe ~Samantha

Cugini’s Restaurant – Poolesville, MD

Well the weather cooperated tonight and we had a heck of game of trivia at Cugini’s in Poolesville!

The Murphs walked away the victors, with Belligerent Midgets hot on their heels for second. The End is Beer rallied in the second half, and finished in third.

Join us again next week, where our first category will be Seinfeld. ~ Ronnie

Griff’s Landing – Frederick, MD

Misplaced memories: Some of our teams have the singer of “On Top Of Old Smokey” confused with John Wayne Bobbit.

The joys of dancing on television: America’s Best Dance Crew is far more popular than previously expected. Lewis Carroll would be so proud.

Third place went home with the two-person team of You & I.

Second place (by a slim margin!) went home with the Know Nothings, whose furious fourth round rally fell JUST SHORT of a victory.

Beer is Good hung onto their lead throughout the game and took home first place!

Next week’s first category is Billy Madison!

Jekyll & Hyde Tavern – Frederick, MD

We had a great game tonight at Jekyll & Hyde, and those braving the possibility of bad weather were in great cheer!

Taking third tonight, playing as a duo were Brownie Points!

Second place tonight went to We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat, and top honors for the evening went to Wham Bam Here We Am!

They’ve chosen the TV show The Blacklist as the first category for next week, so grab some snack-ages, sit in front of the TV and study up! – Brad

Monkey La La – Frederick, MD

Impending ice does not keep La La down. My Tuesday night trivia friends were out, about and ready for some times tonight. And times we had – good ones!

Few lessons learned tonight –
1. Phoenicians is NOT a dirty word…
2. …Maximus is  😀
3. Apparently, accroding to folk songs, “True Love” and Meatballs” are synonomous conccepts.

Thanks for playing tonight everyone. That was a nail biter all the way to the finish line. La La is going to be a tough venue to earn Season 9 House Champion at. Congrats to our Top 3 who took home some La La $$$ and some extra World Series Points.

1st Place: Stink Floyd
2nd Place: Master Debaters
3rd Place: Army of Dorkness

Next week it looks like I’ll be working on my Disney chops some more as the first category is “Denny sings more Disney.” :) – Enjoy your week everyone…See you next Tuesday! – dg :)

Ramparts Tavern – Alexandria, VA

We welcomed a few old faces, a few new faces, and our standard crew of teams into ramparts Tavern last night and topped 15 teams for another great night of trivia.  We discovered that nobody actaully reads soda labels, but they do know Billy Joel song lyrics.  Anyway, the leaderboard was clustered all night, and after being the only team to notch 6 points on the Peabody Awards, our transplants from down the road, Movin’ On Up, finsihed in a tie with We’re Not Porn Stars Anymore (old team, new name).  After a very close answer on the tiebreaker, it was the former adult film stars who took down the win, with Movin’ On Up taking second.  Rampartting Ways took third, and we doled out some extra standings points for Whatever and the Stamp Collectors for their top five finishes.  Next week begins with a question on the TV show “Friends”!  ~ Matt
