Tuesday’s Gone…but Pour House Pub Trivia? That lives forever!

I admit, I’m normally a snow loving person. Always have been.

But even I am so totally done with this! GO HOME SNOW, YOU’RE DRUNK!

But no matter what it’s like outside, there’s ALWAYS a round of Pour House pub trivia! Tuesday night brought out heavy action at six venues!

Is it just me, or is Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch’s “Good Vibrations” absolutely EVERYWHERE since that Don Jon trailer came out?

It seems like you can’t turn the TV on without hearing it now – commercials, ads for a new Fox show…FEEL IT, FEEL IT!

Could Einstein have had any idea that this would become the most famous image of him? He couldn’t have known this would grace dorm room walls for a century, could he?

Let’s see how the games went!

Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD

Oh Champions, only you can take a tiebreaker to such an extreme. Yet again, it all came down to the final answer! And I am not talking final question, or even the tiebreaker, but the final tiebreaker. Ridiculous. You all make me sweat!

Since we now know the exact birthday day of Mr. Heston (Thank God I didn’t have to find the recorded time), we also know that it was Thundercats in third, Jungle Fever in second and W in first! Nice game tonight all, was fun to see you really think on a couple of those.

I’ll see you next week when we start with another good one – Periodic table word game. You can thank W for that one 😉 Be good, and if you can’t be good- don’t get caught. See you next week. ~Samantha

Cugini’s Restaurant – Poolesville, MD

Yet another very fun game of trivia at Cugini’s Restaurant in Poolesville! It was a close one with several teams strategically wagering on the final question.
The Murphs returned to the winner circle tonight after a brief hiatus, great job! Belligerent Midgets also got back into the winner circle in second, and Neverlands held on at the end for third. Join me again next week for our first category, Downton Abbey.

Hollywood Casino – Perryville, MD

Another snowy March evening at Hollywood Casino – Pinky and the Brain made an appearance and came in third while If We Only Had a Brain took second, and Team Freedom made a come back in first place with 144! Next week we’ll be starting off with Polygons! It’s elementary Watson!

Jekyll & Hyde Tavern – Frederick, MD

Despite the snow, we had a great night at Jekyll & Hyde tonight!  Sometime in between our writing prompt in the form of a Why Am I Famous question, and our mini-round of Scooby Doo trivia, we managed to fit in a great game of Pour House!
Taking third place tonight was We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat, playing with a slightly smaller team than usual!  Great game!  Second place went to the Wesley Crushers, the winners of our Why Am I Famous prompt, and Beer is Good broke into their first first place spot here at Jekyll & Hyde!!  Awesome game!  Next week’s first category is the Redskins, so study up and we’ll see you next week!

Monkey La La – Frederick, MD

Any time hot cobbler is an answer at Monkey La La trivia night…it’s gonna be a fun night  – B’lee Dat! And holy hot pie mix my friends, did we stir it up tonight!
I will first commend our friends over at Master Debaters who fought from behind a bit for a good half of the game and then snatched the lead when it counted – on the final. The final category of “Architecture,”  however, did not “raise their foundation” up very high and they chose to go the defensive route and wager ZERO. This earned them the third Place spot as some others leap frogged them on the White House final! GG MD… Our winners this evening went to third quarter Nosedive who are doing very well so far this season at La La! They grappled with MD most of the night and when that door opened at the end they ran through it with “Fireball shots” held high! Great work 3QND! And second Place…woo hoo! Second Place goes to the dynamic duo of Silent Titty Deadly Bang, aka. STDB! That is two weeks in a row now they have come across town and sniped a Top Three. Excellent job STDB…
Top Three Things I Learned Tonight:
1. Apparently, according to some, “Ben Roethlisberger is to the devil, as the devil is to the devil.”
2. Fred Jones is “…the cute one…”

3. Scarlet Johannsen is still hot even in a distorted, unrecognizable caricature pic

Great snowy cap to the day everyone! Thanks for playing tonight. Next week 3QND has chosen “90s Teen Comedy Films” as round one question one. Have fun studying up on that 🙂 Lotsa love y’all…see ya next Tuesday 🙂 dg

Ramparts Tavern – Alexandria, VA

Season IX is rolling right along at Ramparts in Alexandria.  While the field shuffled positions throughout the game, it was We’re Not Porn Stars Anymore who led wire-to-wire.  But when they were unable to come up with the correct response on the final question, it opened the door for Fat, Drunk and Stupid to take down the win!  Second place went to Sorry Folks, Park’s Closed, with Blow it Out Your Snowhole rounding out the top three.  Next week starts with a question on MLB Ballparks!  ~ Matt
