Tuesday night saw us preparing to batten down the hatches, but we still got in a heck of a round of Pour House pub trivia!

It looks like we might be hit with another big blanket of the white stuff, but Tuesday night still brought out many teams for a round of Pour House pub trivia!

It might be cold outside, but it’s always warm when you’re in good company! Read on for a full recap of the evening!

Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD

So, did you hear? Apparently there is some snow or something coming…

Champions got their trivia fix in early, before the warnings and watches spun out of control and they definitely put on a hot game!

Grab a cool coke (or pepsi) and check out these standings- It was Thundercats in third tonight, they were back up in numbers but a little short on chick flicks.

Second went to our ever-ready W, they hang back and they wait, much like that cupid fellow I hear stories about! But also like cupid, they always seem to find their mark.

First tonight was a hotly contested spot, but largely due to a helping hand from a Russian pepsi bottle memory- the gentlemen of Wiseacres reign supreme tonight!

Nice game! I will see you after the snow and love fest to start out with Beatles #1 hits.

Cugini’s Restaurant – Poolesville, MD

Another wonderful edition of Tuesday PHT at Cugini’s, and most of the teams were in the running at the final!

MoMo came out on top in our game tonight with a correct final answer, while The End is Beer pulled up into 2nd with a correct final as well.

Neverlands had them all for the majority of the game, but succumbed at the final! A smart wager kept them in 3rd.

I’ll see you all next week, where our first category will be 1970′s Rock n Roll.

Griff’s Landing – Frederick, MD

A close round of trivia all night at Griff’s Landing, and we learned oh so much. We did have some disbelief tonight, mostly around these facts:

Contrary to popular belief, a date IS in fact a fruit!

Chinese Checkers has NOTHING to do with China!

On to the round: Beer is Good pulled away with some smart wagering in the fourth round, and took home first.

The Know Nothings held tightly to second place all night, and finished there as well.

You and Me hung close for all four rounds, and took home third.

Hollywood Casino – Perryville, MD

Tonight was ground breaking at Hollywood Casino!

The reigning Kings of Hollywood were overthrown tonight!

If We Only Had a Brain took the top slot with a well placed final question bet at 154.

Breakin Winz took the second place slot with 142, and Team Freedom took the third place ticket with 135.

It was a tough loss, but we have a new category for next week, Baltimore CFL football.

Thank you!

Jekyll & Hyde Tavern – Frederick, MD

We had a great game tonight at Jekyll & Hyde!

Brownie Points took the lead by the half, and kept it going to the end to finish in first place!  Congrats!

Wham Bam Here We Am, flirting with the leaderboards all night, nailed the final question, and squeaked into second place!

We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat played a strong game all night, and with a strategic wager were able to take show.
Great game everyone!

Next week’s first category will be an 80′s Music Audio question!  And a reminder that Eric will be filling in next week, but I will return on the 25th! – Brad

Monkey La La – Frederick, MD

In the wake of what was one awe inspiring, tear jerking and all around epic  rendition of “When You Wish Upon a Star” (at least in one host’s opinion ;)) a storm of a pub trivia game poured down at Monkey La La Tuesday night. We had a blast: we had kitten heels, we had chinese checkers, and we played find the fruit!

It was the eve of yet another snow-pocalypse in Frederick, MD! They’re coming for us!

Snowpocalypse Maryland Trivia Company

Eleven teams threw down for some good ol’ bar trivia, Monkey La La style.  This one was a game my friends! After half-time it was Master Debaters who pulled ahead in the lead but a seductive 6-4-2 question knocked them to 2nd and allowed Stink Floyd to do one of their favorite things: move into first going into Round 4.

After a little bit of healthy smack talk and a dicey little Houston Astros tie-breaker, the leader board wound up like this:

1st Place: Stink Floyd
2nd Place: Master Debaters
3rd Place: 3rd Quarter Nosedive

Félicitations everyone :)  (that’s “congrats” in French, as it seemed a theme tonight).

Until next time everyone, Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day and weekend. If you can find a minute in between chocolate hearts and lovey-dovey stuff this weekend..study up on some Shirley Temple – she will begin next Tuesday’s La La game.

Be well y’all .. dg :)

Ramparts Tavern – Alexandria, VA

After setting attendance records each of the last two weeks, the players at Ramparts decided to go for the hat trick, and for the third week in a row, we had a record crowd, as 17 teams filed in for another clown-car edition of Pour House Trivia.  It was anyone’s game, as all of our top teams were just a few points apart all night.  Sorry Folks, Park’s Closed had a very impressive first half as just a duo, but they were part of an epic bar-wide failure on the 6 – 4 – 2 question, which allowed Ramparting Ways to take the lead heading into the final round.  They kept that lead until the final question, but were unable to get the correct anwser, which allowed the Stamp Collectors to come from behind and steal the win.  Second went to We’re Not Porn Stars Anymore, with Whatever in third.  Next week starts with a question on Olympic Hockey.  By the way, Coca-Cola was invented in Georgia.  ~ Matt
