Thursday’s make me thirsty for live trivia with Pour House Trivia!

​​Pour House pub trivia’s Thursday night was absolutely FULL of live trivia! We had six games in Virginia and Maryland, and covered everything under the sun! Check out the games!

 

Bunkers – Leesburg, Virginia

That was one tough final tonight for our game of live trivia here at Bunkers in Leesburg! It is not often that we can stump the players here! After all the dust settled it was the Thundercats that came out on top, with Your Mom rolling into 2nd. The Indians played a great game as well, taking down 3rd in a very tight game heading into that final. C’mon back next week and see me for some Back to the Future action! ~ Ronnie

 

Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD

There is something about starting off a night of pub trivia with Menudo & El Debarge that really can not be touched! Let’s face it, that was music baby! Good ole, soul shakin’, booty bustin’ old school jams. And it certainly catapulted us all into another level of pub trivialization Thursday night in Frederick, MD! 

Thanks to the 15 trivia crew that braved the cold and came on out to hang with us and get in some of that Thursday trivia-ness. Our game was a topsy-turvy contest all evening, with the Top 3 slots jockeying like a good horse race. And as they say, coming around the club house turn, it was anyone’s race! I suspected that final had some sharp teeth on it going in…and indeed it did! 

It was STDB who put together a very nice game this evening and went into the final Q with the W in sight! Hard part though – they had a slew of folks right on them, ready to sting, like a hive of “Burt’s Bees!” (oh yes…a little call back is ON!). When the Purdue Boilermaker dust thinned out, our Top 3 money winners looked like this:

And since we busted the 15 team threshold, the Top 5 get a little extra World Series Points. Congrats to Phlithces and Vitrifiers on a fine 4th and 5th Place finish, respectively!

Fish Market – Alexandria, Virginia

Boner Garage, our season leaders, were conspicuously absent tonight so their lone survivor decided to play traitor and join the ranks of Team Predator, who made a return after a few weeks. The game of live trivia was unfolding well as we had Oscar Meyer maintain the strong lead through most of the game, another team who made a return after a short hiatus. After the final question, here’s how it finished out: 3rd place went to Predator, 2nd place to Two Birds One Stone (trying so hard to snipe their first win and coming up JUST shy…), and winning the game tonight, taking 1st place was Oscar Meyer. Congratulations, to all the top three finishers! I have to admit, Oscar Meyer does NOT win this game without the insane pull of “knitting” for their bonus category, being the only team to get it right (and weren’t even confident at all that they had it, wagering 1)… I’m sure they were just as relieved to walk away with the win as anyone else would’ve been! That concludes this week, we’ll be back next week, same time, same place. Until then 😉

Guido’s – Frederick, MD

 Nice game last night at Guido’s Speakeasy! I had four different teams that were in and out of 1st place at one point so I wasn’t sure who was going to take the win! After the final question we had one more top 3 team shuffle and this is how it ended up working out… 3rd place ended up going to 3 People Who Have Never Been in My Kitchen! Moving to 2nd place was T.N.C.! Starting out in fourth before round 4 and moving all the way to the top spot at 1st was Stink Floyd!! Their choice for next weeks first question is going to be “Real life missions to other planets“, so you’ll have a little space exploration to study before next weeks game! Main Street Oyster House -Bel Air, MD

It was a full house Thursday night at Main Street Oyster House with 10 teams! All the teams played a great game but the Top 3 teams held the rankings through the last 2 rounds. Third place went to The Yo-yos, Second place went to Anal  Bum Covers for $200, and First place went to Buddy’s Buddies who may have inspired the other teams to bring more friends with their 7 person team! Next week trivia will be upstairs and Winners Choice is Cartoon Fish. Thanks for the warm welcome on such a cold night! – Amanda 

 

Quincy’s – Gaithersburg, Maryland

The usual suspects rolled into Quincy’s in Gaithersburg for another fantastic Thursday night edition of Pour House Trivia.  In my opinion, the most important part of the night is that we all learned about a new piece of women’s lingerie.  It seems unlikely that anyone will forget what a basque is (at least most of the teams knew WHO the Basques were).  Anyway, after four rounds, Lowered Expectations had a comfortable lead, but had to sweat it out after a difficult final question.  But no one was able to overtake them, so it was another win for LE!  Second was I Just Quizzed my Pants, while Warning Track Power landed back on the podium after a tiebreaker.  Next week begins with a question on the University of Maryland Women’s Basketball team.  See you then!   ~ Matt
