Thursday night’s Pour House Pub Trivia was a Halloween warmup!

Pour House pub trivia’s Thursday revved up for Halloween with seven games of live trivia!

The Blue Parrott – St. Petersburg Beach, Florida

What an exciting night at the Blue PArrott. The new team, the Brits ended up winning by 1 point! Smart wagering by the teams in first second and third, considering the only teams that got the final were in fourth and fifth.
The category for next week is Men with Mustaches.
Diabetes Trivia Wilford Brimley Trivia Pour House Pub Trivia Maryland

Bunkers – Leesburg, Virginia

Another fine game on the books down here at Bunker in Leesburg, we had a few laughs, a few jabs at the Patriots, and birthday cake.Who could ask for more?

Here are the results of tonight’s game:

Cake or Death in 1st

Thoroughly Screwed in 2nd

Cranius Maximus in 3rd

Our first category for next week will be George Costanza. Happy Halloween!

Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD

It was all treats and no tricks at Champions tonight! No costumes though which was a bit of a let down but the smiling faces made up for it 😉 Champions also does a heck of a job with holiday decorations, so it was easy to get in the Ghoulish spirit.

Thread counts, chocolate, fast carsAND Libido- all in one night’s set? With some rather nice nostalgia about a certain volleyball scene? Oh my! Good thing we also got some pentagon papers in there just to even it out!

Our teams were not distracted by either the halloween decor or the saucy questions and put some serious smackdown in the last half when things started to get harder than a taffy candy left out in the sun. It was that Jackie Robinson middle name that made our top 3 tonight.

Aesops foibles returned to the pack tonight and managed to grab themselves a 3rd place finish for the first night back- Not shabby! 2nd went to Vitrifers who only gave a half hearted happy dance, and 1st… well, it was Power Vacuum who pulled themselves back in to that top spot! Nicely done! For next week you may want to put down the halloween candy and pick up the google, it’s the U2 Spy Plane. Awesome. Stay safe this weekend my friends.

Fish Market – Alexandria, Virginia

I guess the rain scared away my regular crowd because I didn’t seem to recognize very many of you at all. These nights are great though because despite missing some of my vets, I got a great crowd of new players! A quick shout to the vast number of new teams who joined us last night: LA, Lucky Sisters, Team Tectonic, Faulkner? I Hardly Know Her!, Scott Sucks, all of whom made my job a LOT easier AND more fun! Thanks again for joining us!

The question of the night honors tonight went to the “autoclave” question. I personally have never heard the term in my life so I was a bit hesitant at first. Then, even BEFORE the X-word hint, I had about half the teams come turn it in for a 2 point bonus. “Oh, this is good, this is good” I thought. Then for the remainder of the teams, I read the hint: 9 letters, 5th is a “C” as in “Chronicle”… Well, no one else got it right. So maybe it’s a straight YEKIOYD (you-either-know-it-or-you-don’t). I’d never heard of it, and neither had about half the teams BUT we did have a good chunk know it outright. Good job if you did.

Going into the final, the teams showed that being a veteran of the game helped, as we had You’re Killing Me Smalls and Runaway Blimps (formerly You’re Killing Me Smalls, but too many people forced a team split tonight), in the top 2 spots. The final question was all over the place, only a few teams getting a correct response. Here’s how we ended tonight. Faulkner? I Hardly Know Her finished 3rd tonight. A top 3 finish their first time out, that’s a great job! Hope to see you all again in the future! 2nd place was You’re Killing Me Smalls, who had the lead and DROPPED it when they missed the final, and sneaking into the lead were the Runaway Blimps who DID in fact come up with Jackie Robinson before time expired! Great game! In honor of the 90’s playlist I ran tonight, Runaway Blimps chose 90’s Ska Music as their category for next week! Let’s hope it’s a good one! Until then guys, see ya! 😉

1st Place: Runaway Blimps
2nd Place: You’re Killing Me Smalls
3rd Place: Faulkner? I Hardly Know Her

Next week: 90s Ska

Guido’s – Frederick, MD

I thought for sure that a certain winning streak was about to end last night at Guido’s Speakeasy, but some freaky twists and turns in the second half of the game ended the top 3 in this order:

Moving down to 3rd after the final question was T.N.C.! The zero wager helped our next team move up to 2nd place, Friends of Dick Johnson!! They started off really slow but had a real strong second half to land their 7th win in a row, Bongo Sluts!!!

They decided on “1990’s One Hit Wonders” for next Thursdays winners choice, so study up and come back for a chance to take down the champ at Guido’s!!

90s One Hit Wonders Pub Trivia MD

Main Street Oyster House -Bel Air, MD

It was spooky how on point the teams were tonight at Main Street. It’s like they all possessed a 6th sense!

In Bocca channeled the right spirits to come in first with 130 points. Black Dogs, avoided a black cat and stole 2nd place at 121. Boogie Friends were haunted by questions gone by, but took 3rd place with a solid 3rd place slot.

Quincy’s – Gaithersburg, Maryland

Another packed house at Quincy’s for Thursday night trivia!  The story of tonight’s game was Suck It Frosty.  After struggling during the early part of Season XII, they have turned it on, winning two weeks in a row and heading towards the overall season lead in the standings.  Three in a row is unheard of in a game with so many teams each week.  Not surprisingly, we had a tie after three rounds, as Blue Collar was trying to keep the three-peat off the board.  Suck It Frosty was able to pull away on the last round, as was one of just two teams to pick up the correct response on the final, and made it three in a row.  Great job!  The other team to get the final was Lowered Expectations, who took second, with Blue Collar hanging on to third place.  Next week, we begin with a question on French Literature!  ~ Matt
