Thursday Night Trivia Before Storm Jonas!
First off, who the hell named this storm? Jonas? Best we could do? Anyway, we had a range of people tonight who were getting prepared for the storm. Some of you were out getting your 32 loaves of bread and 6 gallons of milk for milk sandwiches, while the rest were packing in to the bars in a last gasp of society before you are stuck in your house with your loved ones! Oh the horrors!

Season 12 came to a close at Quincy’s in Gaithersburg, and once again, it was Blue collar who took down another win to clinch the House Championship! Look for them to make some noise next week at the World Series. A new team, What Snow?, took down second place on the tiebreaker over Breadsticks. Next week, we’ll begin with a question on Stars and Constellations. ~ Matt
Champion Billiards in Frederick, Md
As if you needed any proof that the competition at Champions is tight on thursday, there was absolutely zero wiggle room for mistakes tonight. We were crowning house champs tonight and 3 teams had ponies in that particular race. You never know what’s going to happen and you can never rest easy when the race is that close!
First off all. Can we talk about that puzzle page?! That’s a first for me I think. I didn’t even have to go over the answers, everyone killed it. They didn’t just kill it- they stomped it, wrote their names all over it, and left it for dead while they walked away with their 20 points.. Crazy stuff. I was like Oprah but with out the gazillion of dollars to buy you all new cars!
Any night that we have a question about God Damn Dora is going to be a good night! Had some laughs, some risque moments and even some rather unrestrained clapping.. I like it, let the beer flow like water!
The final was where it was all at tonight, either you nailed it or you were not coming near placing with a 10 team long stick. In 1st tonight it was Equestions! They had a guest apperance by some PHT familiar faces and put this game on lock down. 2nd wen tot Vitrifiers, and 3rd went to Charllie and the Vodka factory.
This lead to some furious mathmatical gymnastics up at the podium as I tabulated our House Champs! At the beginning of the game it was looking like Power Vac had it but valiant games by Charlie and Vitrifiers gave them the boot down to 3rd. It was Vitrifiers who reigned supreme tonight and took down the Hoouse Champions for Season XII! Nice job! I can’t wait to see what you all do up in Hagerstown at the World Series.

Bunker’s in Leesburg, Va
The buzz buzz is the impending SNOW OF DOOM, so we had ourselves a packed game of PHT here at Bunkers as folks were apparently trying to “shake it loose” as much as possible before a regimen of shoveling and cabin fever. It took a tiebreaker to settle 3rd place tonight, which as always means it was a real close game. Remember to keep an eye on our website and social media for snow updates in regards to the playoffs and pub crawl. Congratulations to Your Mom as Season 12’s House Champions here at Bunker!

Blue Parrot in St. Pete’s Beach, Fl
Another close and exciting game at the Blue Parrot last night. It all came down to the final question. Going into the final, Shore Nuff and the Quizknows were tied with 155 points each in first place, and Ruthie’s Marauders, after being in 7th after the big halftime page, came back to third going into the final. Quizkncows wagered strategically, while Shore Nuff said go big or go home! Shore Nuff went big, and after guessing the final question correctly, ended up with their first Blue Parrot win! Congrats Shore Nuff! Ruthie’s Mauraders also got the correct score, however, with the Quizkncows strategic wager, that kept Ruthie’s Mauraders with the third place prize of a bottle of Spiced Rum, courtesy of the Chamber of Commerce.

We had a tie breaker tonight for 1st place between House Champs In Bocca, and Boogie friends! it was tense! But at the end, Jules Verne was born in 1828 and that’s a fact. Can Boogie GUESSED 1829 while In Bocca said 1830. Holy Tight answers! Sometimes your best bet is your best guess! Clever team name took home the 3rd place slot to complete our podium.

It’s possible that the thought of being snowed in for the next 2 days helped, but we had a packed house last night a Guido’s Speakeasy! It was an exciting game to watch also! One of our regular teams had a bunch of extra friends with them and split into 2 teams, and just the competitiveness and trash talking between them was awesome! There was some good top 3 flip flopping throughout most of the game but after the final question was asked, answered and the dust settled this is how it ended… For a second week in a row, they were one of 3 teams to get the final correct and jump up to 3rd place, Boner Damage! With a strong second half that earned them 2nd place, T.N.C.!! And as House Champs for this season, it seemed fitting that Bongo Sluts CRUSHED it to take 1st in the final game of season 12!!! Their pick for next Thursdays winners choice was “Early 2000’s NU Metal”. Have fun studying up on that one, good luck to all my teams representin’ in this SUNDAYS playoffs/pubcrawl, and I’ll see everyone next week at Guido’s!! ~ Jon J
