The Summer Fling continues! Pour House Trivia Tuesday recap!
July 16, 2014
Pour House pub trivia‘s Tuesday brought you six games of live trivia!
The storms seem to have made their way past us – at least for a little bit!
Enjoy the recap – hope to see you tonight!
Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD
Oh Thundercats! You made such a triumphant return back to your homeland! They took 1st tonight at Champions!
Wiseacres seemed to relish the competition, they fought the good fight but came up one point short and took 2nd while Jungle Fever rounded out the pack in 3rd.
It was a good night, lots of laughs and smiles going on, even some trash talk and MC Hammer moves… I do love my Tuesdays. š
I will see you next week (After I get a good Bingo game in) for a first question on one of my favorites – Rocky and Bullwinkle!

Cugini’s Restaurant – Poolesville, MD
Wow! Now that was a game of bar trivia, the leaderboard flipped and flopped around all night like a freshly caught trout.
Cugini’s was the place to be and it was the Murph’s that powered through for the win!
MoMo missed a couple early but hunkered down to take 2nd. Finally, it took a tie-breaker to settle 3rd, and it was Lightfoot that came out with the closest year over Blue Barracudas.
Join me again next week, where our first category is Saturday Night Live Seasons 1-5!

Hollywood Casino – Perryville, MD
It might be raining outside, but the game of pub quiz inside ain’t stopping! Lots of new faces!
American Outlaws shot their way into the first place slot with a gamble on the final question.
Team of One came into the game late but made up for the lateness with getting bonus upon bonus. Just us keeps on truckin each week and made it into the third place slot.
Get your Disney hats ready because next week we are starting off with Disney Characters!
Jekyll & Hyde Tavern – Frederick, MD
We had a bustling night of live trivia at Jekyll & Hyde tonight, and with no storms to brave, everyone was ready to rumble.
Taking third place tonight after running among the top contenders all night were the Cheese Balls! Great game!
Second place tonight went to Brownie Points, jumping all over the board throughout the night.
First place went to Beer is Good, nailing the final question and claiming the title.
Next week’s first category is the Green Bay Packers, so study up, grab your cheesehead, and we’ll see you next week!

Monkey La La – Frederick, MD
My laugh of the night:
I said “Name that 1953 piece…”
STDB…said “Your Mom!”
LMAO!
I might even email my mom that one! She ventures out to trivia night now and again knowing that she is a popular wrong answer. It’s answers like this one that I am sure make her proud of her boy :)- Nice work STDB!
But “chop chop” – onto the game! Stormy night = GOOD TIMES! Ten teams splashed around in the trivia puddles tonight and made it a live one at La La! Esophagus Now meant biz-ness tonight and took it wire to wire – and also introduced us to a new half-time shot, called “Nutty Balls.” (We had a field day with that one, as you can imagine). Good game Esophagus!
2nd and 3rd Place, however, went to a couple of jumpers! They sniped the TAFT final and leap frogged into 2nd and 3rd from 5th and 6th – Trivirgins and TBH, respectively! Great work to both teams on that move!
Fun night at La La everyone..and our new game of MONSTER is coming along as well. For those of you who don’t know, this is our after trivia, trivia game – fast and every man and woman for him/herself! Stay and play one night…tis a fun lil’ after- thang!
Next Tuesday we kick off with “Teddy Roosevelt” trivia. Til then, enjoy your week my friends. See you soon š dg
Ramparts Tavern – Alexandria, VA
It was a ridiculously close game at Ramparts Tavern in Alexandria, as virtually every team was playing in top form. First place changed hands a few times throughout the night, but after round four, we had six teams within three points of the lead and an unprecedented THREE-WAY TIE FOR FIRST! Unbelievable! The final question did not help sort things out, as all three teams came up with the correct response. So, we decided on a Shaquille O’Neal-themed tiebreaker (and some lightning-fast math) to settle our winners. It was Sorry Folks, Park’s Closed who came out on top, with Fat, Drunk, and Stupid in second and This Weather Gets Me Wet in third. What a thrilling game tonight, can’t wait to get back here next week when our first question will be on Harry Potter. ~ Matt
