Sunshine this Weekend!

I think the main question on everyone’s minds this weekend was something along the lines of what’s that big bright thing in the sky?! What a glorious return for the sun, and a great time at our weekend trivia games. See all the sunshine scores here-

Belles’ in Frederick, Md

We got whacked early with 13 teams here  for our Saturday night trivia at Belles, although a few of them dropped off after the first half scores were announced. Great game nonetheless, and start gearing up for the WS and Pub Crawl. Here are the results:

Pizza and Pretzel Creations in Hagerstown, Md

We had another incredible and exciting game last night at Pretzel & Pizza Creations! It looked like a streak was finally over, but that final question can change anything from time to time! Finishing in 3rd was the Phlitchs, again the bridesmaid and not the bride in 2nd place was Danny Glover. They handed me their answer slip for the final question and said, “I guess all good things must come to an end.”, but they were the only team to answer it correctly!! Keeping the streak alive with a come from behind 1st place victory was Give Us Your Beer Money!! Now Matt, for next weeks winners choice they want Denny to write up the question. They picked a local play that Denny was actually in called “Killer Joe”. You’ll have to tell me about it sometime Denny! Hope we’ll have another great turnout next Saturday night at Pretzel & Pizza Creations!!   ~  Jon J

Cpt. Benders in Sharpsburg, Md

Filled in for Tori tonight at Captain Bender’s. Good to meet everyone, glad you all came out to play! Everything went pretty smoothly, glad I got the hang of things as quickly as I did. You’ve got a nice little venue here, maybe I’ll swing by more often!

The game started off very well for Boh’s and Hoes, who held a fairly commanding lead at the half. They had the high score on the halftime page, barely missed any points in the first two rounds; it was looking like a sure victory for them. Round 3 didn’t do much to slow them down either as they picked up all of the wager points.

The 4th round was the only place we saw any weakness in Boh’s and Hoes as they missed a 2 point bonus on the Sadie Hawkins question. They did pick up “chino” which stumped a few of our teams. Not a lot of knowledge holes for them. They seem like the perfect team. This perfection facade they were putting on was proving more and more true as we went into the final and they led by 20. Even with a 20 point led, an essential lock game, they bet the 12 max on the final, just to rub it in.

A miss could potentially lose them the game, but they didn’t care. And it didn’t matter. They got the final right and took down the victory. Great game guys, what a showing! 2nd place to team Fubar and 3rd place, a little jump up for our new team Fender Benders! Great game everyone, we’ll be back in one week with more trivia. Thanks again guys!

The Beacon in Frederick, Md

Another game (that was really fun for me to watch also) is in the books from The Beacon! We had a couple visiting teams out to make things a little more interesting and a small amount of top 3 flip flopping after the final question also! For example… Moving up from 5th to 3rd place after the final was We’ve Embraced Our Mediocrity! Moving up to 2nd was the Vitrifiers, and visiting us at the Beacon for the first time and taking the lead after round 2 through the rest of the game for the win, 1st place was owned by Cher’s Zombie Army!! They decided on the show “Arrested Development” for next weeks winners choice category, so study up and come join the party with us next Sunday at The Beacon!!   ~  Jon J
