Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD
Tonight’s Summer Fling Opener at Champions was a fantastic game – and a close one! While Brown Coats held on to the lead for the final 3 rounds there were plenty of contenders for 2nd and 3rd throughout the game. And then came thee final! Tonight’s final question really shuffled things up and left us with a tie for first! Honorable mention to Brown Coats who ended up with 4th place. Third place went to Big Money No Whammies. Thundercats won the tiebreaker for first leaving Master Blaster with Second. Exciting game everyone.
Next week’s first category will be Pokemon 1st Generation. See you then!
Cugini’s Restaurant – Poolesville, MD
Thanks to everyone at Cugini’s for making our kick-off of the Summer Fling a nail-biter going into the final question.
Drunk & Disorderly were our winners in the game, overtaking the Murphs who finished in 3rd.
Neverland used a strategic wager to land themselves in 2nd place. Join me again next week, where our first category will be the NHL.

Hollywood Casino – Perryville, MD
Some returning faces at Hollywood Casino for tonight’s round of live trivia. If We Only Had a Brain took first place with a well played second half. Army of One is a one man show, but he took second place at 115, and close behind were new comers Retiree’s + One, too bad for the plus one, congrats on retiring!
Next week we will be moving east to Thailand!

Jekyll & Hyde Tavern – Frederick, MD
We had a great start to the Summer Fling at Jekyll & Hyde, featuring new and returning teams! Great game of pub quiz everyone!
Black Steel was harnessing the power of children on their last day of school, helping them get some crucial points but unfortunately missing the cut at number four.
Taking third place tonight was Highly Questionable, as a duo! Congratulations!
Second place tonight, as a trio, went to Beer is Good, and taking first place tonight for the inaugural game of the Summer Fling went to Brownie Points!
Great game everyone!!
Next week’s first category is going to be Abnormal Psychology, so go take a Meyers Briggs, and then hit the books for next week!

Monkey La La – Frederick, MD
One fun thing about the new Summer Fling season is the new team names I get to hear! And tonight’s pub quiz at La La certainly brought out the gamut!
What a game for team “Esophagus Now!” – start to finish and cleared the 12 point barrier before the final…FTW on the Summer Fling Opener, Live and in La La style! Great game Esophagus!
2nd place went to From Us Come Knowledge – but for the record, they used an acronym on the answer slips…doh! 😉 Great Game ladies and gent!
And rounding out out our Summer Fling Opening Night Top 3 was “9 Point Guess!” – out of nowhere 😉

Ramparts Tavern – Alexandria, VA
Summer has (unofficially) begun at Ramparts in Alexandria, as we were very glad to welcome back all of the teams that made the arduous journey to Hagerstown over the weekend. Our teams made a great showing at World Series IX, with two Ramparts teams finishing in the top six, and four teams in the top 20. Tuesday’s game involved the Stamp Collectors leading from wire-to-wire, except for the final question, which they could not answer correctly, allowing The Spurs Fanatics to take down the win (maybe they will stick with that new name). Fat Drunk Stupid faltered in round two, but hit the final to jump a few spots for second, while Soylent Green Acres took third. Next week starts with a question on Katy Perry. See you then! ~Matt
