Here are the results:
Your Mom in 1st
Washington Foreskins in 2nd
Cranius Maximus in 3rd.

Our next game’s first category will be the TV show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD

Cow and Chicken! Mountain Dew! The 70 degree rainy day! All things that sucked tonight! Champions, you fought the good fight. There were a couple times that I had to bribe you with cookies to make sure you didn’t run me out on the rails when you discovered that you should have been less of a 9 and more of a 1.

But, hey. There were cookies! 2015 brought Thursday champions in to my life, and I am oh so happy to have you all lighting up my friday eve 😉 Wishing you the very best the rest of the year has to give you, I will see you all in a couple weeks- in 2016! Be safe these holidays and be kind to each other.

I wish I could say that you should be as kind as the final was, but frankly- that final wasn’t very nice at all! Only a couple teams managed to nail it, and it had a pretty serious shuffle effect on that top 3. In 3rd it was Moose and Squirrel who were bumped from the top spot, 2nd went to Vitrifers and 1st was the hands in the air like they just didn’t care- while being oddly silent about it- Charlie and the Vodka Factory! Nice game guys and thank you for all the good times this year! Our first question of the new year will be the Fire and Ice book series, yes- Game of Thrones but strictly the literary version.

Be well, and be happy!

Fish Market – Alexandria, Virginia

Last game of the year before the holidays and 2016 begins! We had a very sizable crowd tonight, which a bunch of new teams joining us; hoping they make it their New Year’s Resolution to stick with us through the end of the season, at the very least! The more people that come, the more fun we all have so we definitely welcome any and all players back with open arms!

Tonight we were missing a chunk of our regulars including half of You’re Killing Me Smalls (Star Wars dragged their male half away from us!) but the new teams sure brought the energy for us! One team that was intact for the match tonight was 2 Birds One Stone, who led for most of the game until missing their 5 point bonus chip in round 3. That made way for Title One Forever to sneak into the lead.

The lead was fairly large going into round 4 but a 9 wager missed brought Title One back to Earth. The 9 wager would come on the Guns question where we were looking for the origin countries of some famous guns. We had a US Sniper Rifle that NO ONE seemed to identify correctly, which seemed odd, an Uzi which most teams pinned as an Israeli origin, and the Glock, which a lot of teams went BIG on Germany but actually it is an Austrian gun! Who knew!

This made for quite an exciting finish. Going into the final, Title One was up by just a single point on 2 Birds One stone, with Smalls back by double digits. The only hope for Smalls was to nail the final and hope BOTH of the teams up top missed. 2 Birds One Stone were unable to come up with the correct response so they dropped down a bit. Smalls nail it, moving them up. All they needed was a miss by our leaders, Title One.Well, Title One DID get it correct and take down the WIN!

Title One won. Get it? Haha. Good game! Smalls in 2nd and 2 Birds finishing 3rd in the last game of the year! Thanks for coming out! I’ll see you all in 2016, about 3 weeks from now! Enjoy the holidays, be safe, get some sleep, and study up!

1st Place: Title One Forever
2nd Place: You’re Killing Me Smalls
3rd Place: 2 Birds One Stone

Guido’s – Frederick, MD

We had a really weird but exciting game of live trivia last night at Guido’s Speakeasy! All the teams that are normally top 3 were at the bottom, and vice versa for the others. The final question did still help add to the top 3 tension and ended up changing everything one last time also!

Finishing in 3rd was a new team of old players who came in, Dale’s Christmas Babies! Holding 1st from after the puzzle page until the final only to end with 2nd was G.D.S.!! And the only team that got the final correct took the from 5th to 1st place for the win, yet another new team, the Fanger Bangers!! Now, we are off the next 2 Thursdays for Christmas Eve and New Years Eve!

When we come back, Fanger Bangers picked “Star Wars” for the winners choice category, so have a WONDERFUL HOLIDAY and I’ll see everyone next year at Guido’s Speakeasy!!

Quincy’s – Gaithersburg, Maryland

Could it really be our last night of trivia in 2015 at Quincy’s in Gaithersburg?  Sadly, we’ll be off each of the next two weeks, so hopefully everyone got their trivia fix to hold them off until next year.  A couple of interesting questions early on set the tone, as some teams were overly-confident in their knowledge of U.S. state capitals and beverage brands.  One team that was not phased by the questions was Blue Collar, who was looking to overtake the lead in the season standings.  They held a comfortable lead heading into the final question, but the field was within striking distance.  It was a doozy of a final question, as only one team was able to come up with the correct response, but it was Blue Collar for the win!  A stellar performance from start to finish.  Second place went to Breadsticks with Lowered Expectations in third.

We’ll be back on January 7th with a NEW START TIME of 7:00p, and a first question on Baseball Hall of Famers!  Have a great Christmas and New Year’s!  ~ Matt
