Pour House Trivia Thursday wants to use the WHOLE bass!
Pour House pub trivia’s Thursday is a perfect place to get rid of that bass you just caught – yes, the WHOLE bass!
That SNL 40th anniversary was great, wasn’t it?
Check out the recaps!
All it took was a minor tweak from five-word answer to a four-word answer to open up the floodgates and solve a lot of perplexed faces on that last question in Round 4 tonight.
Whoops! Thanks to all the fine folks at Bunker for waking me up to that!
Here are tonight’s results:
Your Mom in 1st
Cake or Death in 2nd
Touched by Cosby in 3rd
Our first category for next week is BEER!
18 Teams filled the pub trivia battlefield of Champion Billiards in Frederick, MD this cold Thursday evening! And with answers a slingin’ and questions a’poppin’…we had ourselves a rowdy little throw down before the night’s end!
We opened with a Moon Pie, which is never a bad start to ANY night in this trivia host’s opinion. And then we saw the likes of Richard Cheese, Sister Act and of course, the Bass-o-Matic rear their heads!
The second half brought us the River Styx, the Happy Days of Thunder and a nice lesson in “Burgernomics!” And a tightening of the scoreboard! Going into the US Constitution final Q tonight it was definitely anyone’s contest!
Congrats to the Top 3 crews, however, who climbed this ladder tonight and earned a spot on the Champions Leader Board!
And many props to Vitrifiers, Just Good Enough and Master Debaters who took 4th and tied for 5th respectively.
Great time tonight everyone. Thanks for coming out and having at it tonight. Power Vacuum has asked us all to tighten up on our “National Parks Trivia” for next Thursday’s game! Have a great weekend and I will see you next Thursday night! dg 🙂
We had 15 teams tonight, a record at the Fish Market! On nights like these, the only word I can use to describe it is “rager.”
Always such a treat to have that many people coming out and playing our game. We only had a couple of our regular teams too; mostly filled with new players and new faces, another thing I absolutely love! Hopefully, you all had as much fun as I did and decide to come back in the future! Speaking of new teams, new faces, we had a couple of our newbies make some serious noise tonight!
Teams like Hoodness with the Goodness, Drinking While Thinking, and Derek Loves Cameron were crushing it early, holding the top 3 spots at half time. Our veteran teams seemed to be a bit irked by this success and used the second half to turn the jets on and step the trivia game up! After fighting through what was a difficult round 3 and 4, Two Birds One Stone (last week’s winners) were able to sneak back into the lead going into the final question. Wounded Wizards, playing as a duo, were able to jump into second, with Welcome to You’re Doom rounding it out in 3rd place.
The final question didn’t shake up the ranks too bad and with that, our game finished just as it looked going in! That makes 2 in a row for Two Birds One Stone! Congrats guys! Last week, they won without their ring leader, Allison, and in honor of her absence, they chose Famous Allisons as their winner’s choice category. This week, Ryan was absent for the victory, and the honors were sent right back to him with a winner’s choice category of Famous Ryans! Perhaps a trend is starting… We’ll see if they make it 3 in a row next week! Hopefully, our new teams come back out and try their luck to knock off this current juggernaut-esque trivia squad! Until next week though, I’m out! Thanks again guys, I’ll see you in 7 days!
1st Place: Two Birds One Stone
2nd Place: Wounded Wizards
3rd Place: Welcome to You’re Doom
Next week’s category: Famous Ryans
What a CRAZY finish to tonight’s live trivia game at Guido’s Speakeasy!! Lead changes kept happening all night and didn’t stop until the final game ending question was answered.
Coming to visit me from my Sunday night venue and jumping from 6th to 3rd after tonight’s final was the Ollie Monsters!! Making a move from 4th to 2nd place after the final was Norfolk And Chance!! Making an ah-MAZ-ing move from 3rd to 1st for their third win in a row was Not Quite White!!
Winner’s choice for next Thursday will be “University of Maryland Men’s Basketball(Go Terps!)”, so study up and I’ll see you next week!!

I love when it call comes down to the final question!
We had a very close game rocking all night long with 5 veteran teams in the mix. They all played strong, and even the Cup Chicks, who are usually here for fun and not serious competitors, were kicking butt points wise!
Team 9 years had been away for a few weeks, and came back strong leading the game for most of the evening. But a big showing in the 6-4-2 round closed the gap so that in the end, it was a tie for first with Clever Team Name taking the te-breaker at the end.
To be a good sport though, CTN let team 9 years pick the winner’s choice for next week which is:
The Immune System!
See you then – Maynard
A few new faces played here at Qunicy’s in Gaithersburg for the first time tonight, and a few old faces made some returning visits as well. That gave us a whopping 15 teams on the roster, and the game could not have been any closer. The newly-minted Suck It Frosty decided that a team name change was in order, and it must have been special, as they took down their first win of the season! Blue Collar put in another fine performance for second, while I Just Quizzed My Pants took third. Next week starts with a question on the lyrics of Nicki Minaj! ~ Matt
