​​Pour House pub trivia’s Thursday packed in six great games of live trivia in Maryland and Virginia!

It’s always a delight to get Dr. Jones into a trivia set – check out how it all went down!

Bunkers – Leesburg, Virginia

Whew! That was a tight one as several teams had a shot going into the final pub quiz question at Bunkers tonight! The final question did not fail to disappoint neither, launching a mid-ranked team up into the winner’s circle!

Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD

Let’s face it. Every now and again, it’s all about Indiana Jones!

Trivia night at Champions this evening was a stomp! Caaaarraaaazzzyyy game with a stellar finish! 17 teams packed in Champions this evening to play a bit of Pour House Trivia, Thursday style. And this game was jam packed with twists and turns all night! We had vectors, we had Methuselah, we had speleology, and oh yes…we got “Lei’d”

It was quite a night for sure! And it was anyone’s game going into the final! Twas a close one! And after Chewbaka and Indiana Jones made their cameos, our Top 3 Leader board was a shaken up a touch. Congrats to those of you who Top 3’d this one! Great game!

And props to 4th and 5th tonight: Just Good Enough and Master Debaters, respectively. We broke the 15 team mark so the 13pt rule is in effect!

I wish all of you a wonderful weekend. And if you celebrate it; Happy Passover. And if you celebrate Easter…Happy Easter. Just go be happy this weekend whatever you get into 🙂 And if you have a chance, maybe try and watch Monty Python’s Holy Grail, as that is what DCH have incited us to study up on for next week’s Winner’s Choice.

Fish Market – Alexandria, Virginia

With a couple of our veteran teams out tonight for vacation and other reasons, we actually had a quite sizable crowd with a plethora of new faces! On team in particular we had was a team composed of all out-of-towners that caught the trivia buzz this past Monday!

Consisting of co-workers from Delaware, Utah, Indiana, Washington, etc. they played their butts off tonight! They called themselves Intangible Assets and they led for a majority of the game, holding a 6 point lead going into the final. The final played a bit difficult tonight, only 4 teams converting, and unfortunately, our travelers were not one of the 4.

They dropped a bit, settling for 3rd place (which evidently ties their placement at another trivia event earlier in the week; this was their 3rd game of PHT in 4 days!). 2nd place, with a bit of a jump from behind went to our regulars The Couch Sleepers who were able to nail the final tonight! Good job guys! 1st Place went to another group of new faces that called themselves the Red Rockets! They sniped the final and won by a solid 4 points to take down the victory! Grats guys! Hoping to bring back all the new teams next week! We’ll see what happens! Until then guys I’ll talk to ya soon!

Guido’s – Frederick, MD

Another great turnout for live trivia tonight at Guido’s Speakeasy, which seemed to keep the scores close and the game really exciting!!

I’m pretty sure I had at least 2 teams every round tied for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but that pesky final question sorted everything out for tonight’s top 3. Holding onto 3rd tonight was Friends Of Dick Johnson! Jumping from 5th to 2nd place after the final was a visiting team, Cotton Candy!! Finally getting back in the winners seat for 1st tonight was Not Quite White!!

They picked the hil-LAR-ious film “Grandma’s Boy” for next Thursdays winners choice question which, by the way, will be read by next weeks guest host, the ORIGINAL Guido’s host, SCOTT!! I’ll be in the house also to see how smart I am without the answers in front of me! (I’ll be betting, “not very” on that one) So don’t miss next weeks game, it’s gonna be sweet!!

Ten teams tonight! Awesome night, what with a little Indiana Jones and a bit of speleology and so much more!. The key for all these teams tonight was that they HUNG IN and played to the end. CTN was the champion again, with ABC & Jaguars

Winnner’s Choice: Weird Sports

 

Quincy’s – Gaithersburg, Maryland

After an impressive second place finish as a duo last week, Barack You Like a Hurricane figured there was still some room for improvement.  A perfect third round gave them a slight lead, and after they were the only team to get 6 points on the 6-4-2, they had a bit of a cushion.  But the last question of round four bit them, and they were one point back heading into the final.  None the less, a pull of Indiana Jones was enough to propel them to their FIRST WIN EVER!  Great job!  Lowered Expectations also hit the final to take second, with Suck It Frosty in third.  Next week, we’ll be back to start our game with question on the current season of “Saturday Night Live”.  ~ Matt
