Had some new faces show up at Bunker tonight here in Leesburg, and ten teams battled it out for the top game prizes! Thanks again for putting up with me and my corny jokes. Here are the results of tonight’s game:

Your Mom in 1st
The Indians in 2nd
Cranius Maximus in 3rd

Our first category for next week is Calypso music!

Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD

Thursday night at Champions saw a ton of new crews venture out for a pub trivia battle royale! 14 teams threw down for a couple hours of trivia fun and craziness! Three of them left with a little loot for their time!

Lemme just say…that was a fun game! I had a good time watching this one. We had split team rivalries, veterans, new crews, and solo artists all jamming tonight! The game had a nice rhythm to it. Don’t get me wrong though. By nice rhythm I don’t mean easy – there were real snallygasters lurking in there…

Mmmhhmm, that one. The Bonneville salt flats meant buisness. Even the 6-4-2 tonight – and the triple jump in all its 60 feet of glory – had some teeth! It all made for a very good game and some very fun times! Congrats to the Top 3 this evening. That was no easy field of trivia teams to navigate through. So props for climbing to the top of the ladder!

Next week, Power Vacuum have invited us all to brush up on our Industrial Revolution chops this weekend. Have fun with that 🙂 I will see you all next Thursday night.

In the meantime, much love to all the DADS out there! Have a great Sunday and Happy Father’s Day! DG 🙂

Fish Market – Alexandria, Virginia

Jam-packed rager tonight at the Fish Market! Easily eclipsing the double digit team numbers, we had a huge crowd coming out tonight for the game including veteran teams Two Birds One Stone, You’re Killing Me Smalls, and teams formerly known as Sic Semper Tyrannis, Oscar Meyer playing under new aliases tonight: Nulli Segundas and Swedish Police on Vacation, respectively.

Question of the night is going to the French question. Who knew that the word ‘cliche’ came from a word meaning “stencil”, because we use them both over and over and over. That is a pretty cool origin story, up in the ranks with Spiderman and The Incredible Hulk! Either way, only about half the teams got it, and it was one of my personal favorites from the set. Going into the final question we had a duo, Swedish Police on Vacation, in the lead on a 15 team field! Close behind was Two Birds One Stone though, who trailed by a mere 3 points!

Swedish Police went defensive when they heard the “Geography” category get announced so it was up to the field to miss it. Two Birds One Stone went all in and didn’t miss which claimed the VICTORY FOR THEM! Swedish Police got the final correct as well but the wager left them behind in 2nd place tonight. 3rd place, with a correct response on the final was a new team called Mike Hunt Loves Hard Trivia! Great finish, great game, great night all around! I’m excited to keep this ROLLING NEXT WEEK! Hopefully you’ll be there too! Until then 😉

1st Place: Two Birds One Stone
2nd Place: Swedish Police on Vacation
3rd Place: Mike Hunt Loves Hard Trivia

Next week’s category: Famous Hungarians

Guido’s – Frederick, MD

Good times last night at Guido’s Speakeasy!

Teams were fighting for the top spots and the game was electric! Finishing 3rd in a well fought game was Angry Balls! “All good things must come to an end”, and so the super winning streak finally ended in 2nd place for T.N.C.!! Finally back in the winners circle with a new name for the Summer Fling was Trivia Team 2:Electric Boogaloo!!

They went with the very random “Things old people don’t know” for their winner’s choice category next Thursday, so study up and stop by Guido’s next week for some FUN!

Coming soon!

Quincy’s – Gaithersburg, Maryland

What a great finish we had at Quincy’s in Gaithersburg!  There was a two-way tie for the lead heading into the final question, and when each of our top teams go the final, the brewery-themed tiebreaker was in effect!  Who knew California had 500 breweries?  Well, nobody actually, because both guesses were far short.  But it was another victory for the John Lithgow Fan Club, followed by Lowered Expectations.  Smella Nella rounded out our top three.  next week, we’ll begin with a question on The Food Network!  ~ Matt
