Roast House Pub – Frederick, MD
It came down to the wire in a nail biter round of live trivia tonight at the Roast House! Regulars and Traveling teams meant it was a cut throat battle of veteran teams. Who would emerge victorious? Highlight’s of the night: It is now my head canon that Hannibal’s horse’s name was Silver and that he was the Lone Ranger of Carthage. This has nothing to do with either correct answer for that particular question, but who really cares about Napoleon anyway? I think Triple 50/50 Homer Simpson or RuPaul needs to be a category every week at the Roast House. Several Teams agree with me. I think a petition may be in order… Tonight was the night of split questions, with the field loving either one answer or another: Janet Jackson and Madonna, Amadeus and Reds, and the final: Rolls and Royce and Aston and Martin. How would that effect the standings? We had a tie for first going into the final, with several teams nipping right at their heels. Wagering was as important as a correct answer tonight, and it went down like this: In third place, the Know Nothings! Welcome to the Roast House guys, and good job tonight! In second place, wagering defensively going into the tie came the Dewey Decimators! Great game guys, well done! But with a correct answer, they would not be denied their streak: Multiple Scorgasms takes it down again! Congratulations guys! For their first round category next week, Multiple Scorgasms has chosen the French Language! So study up on the language of love, and we’ll see you next week! Until then, Ian
Spider Kelly’s – Arlington, VA
Since most of us have a day off on Tuesday, we had a bit of a boost in attendance at Spider Kelly’s, as ten teams filed in for a night of trivia. Most of our regulars were there, and they were all jammed at the top of the standings as we finished the final round. We had a two-way at the top between Liquor? I Hardly Know Her! and Magic Grits. But it was only one of those two that gave me the correct response on the final, and so it was Liquor who took down the win! Eleven is a prime number took second, with Rocket Surgeons in third. Next week begins with the VERY unique category of “Super Bowl Vice Presidents”. ~ Matt
