Monday Night Highlights!

PHT makes Monday’s better. Hands down. There’s really not anymore than that that needs to be said- check out the recap.

DRP in Alexandria, Va

Wind was a bit chilly, the game had a few fillies, and DRP is about 30 miles southeast of Chantilly. The game was real tight, the ambience was light, and about 85% of the teams got the final right. Here are your results:

Roasthouse Pub in Frederick, Md

Holy Packed House Batman! The Roast House was hopping tonight, with new teams, old teams, and house veterans packing into the tight space for a hot and fiery game of Pour House Trivia!

Highlights of the Night:

In “Wanna-Play-the-Counting-Game”: The Animal Kingdom question caused a lot of suffering tonight, with lots of 8 and 4 legged answers. Even a 2 legger! Tsk tsk tsk!

In “Cross-Question-Clues”: We just had a question about Hawaii, yet that was a rare pull tonight compared to Maine! Come on guys, context!

In “You-Don’t-Know-Amendments-But-You-Know-Naked-Celebs”: The 18th Amendment was a tough pull tonight, but everyone pulled Brooke Shields; come on people, priorities!

In third place tonight, Hot Shame!

In second place tonight, Cher’s Zombie Army!

In first place tonight, Multiple Scorgasms!

Great game everyone tonight! Next week we have the Color Purple (the movie) for our WC category! Study up, and we’ll see you next time!

Until then,

Ian

And the streak is over! Tonight The A Team was without their full squad and against a field of 15 teams, it was gonna be tough for the duo to pull it out. Yes, the result is spoiled, they’ve been beaten, but a hard fight and a great game led to the end of this very strong winning streak.
The A Team led all night. As just a duo they excelled over a jam packed room full of players. They even got tonight’s Question of the Night correct, a question that only a few teams picked up. The Question of the Night was our “Empress of India” question. Queen Victoria not only ruled England for the majority of the 19th century but she also spent the latter half watching over India as the inaugural holder of that title. The A Team got it and held their lead going into the 6-4-2.
The 6-4-2 played difficult for the field. The only team to pick up 6 points was Fries B4 Guys. Everyone else waited until the 4 or the 2, including the A Team who settled for 2 points on that one. Despite only picking up a 2 point bonus on the 6-4-2, they had a strong round 4 and led the field by 1 point going into the final.
The A Team would extend their win streak to 6 in a row if they get the final BUT it did play a bit more difficult than usual tonight. 2 teams picking up the correct response on the final. The A Team moves to 3rd with an incorrect response, Chicken McThuggets moves into 2nd with a defensive wager, and the winners tonight are MC who sniped the final! Great game! Back next week!
1st Place:     MC
2nd Place:    Chicken McThuggets
3rd Place:     The A Team
Next week:     The Usual Suspects

Spider Kelly’s in Arlington, Va

Monday night at Spider Kelly’s in Clarendon witnessed another great performance by High School Prom, who made it two in a row with a steady game, followed by a correct response on the final (which apparently, they knew right away…).  A return visit from PC Principals notched them a second place victory, while Jimmy’s in Vegas took third.  Next week, we’ll begin with a question on Pearl Jam!  ~ Matt
