Little Debbie and so much more on Tuesday with Pour House Pub Trivia!

Pour House pub trivia‘s Tuesday delivered eight games of live trivia!

We met up with our old pal Little Debbie and did so much more! Read on to check it out.

Capitol City Brewing Company – Arlington, VA

It was a great finish to Season XI at Capitol City Brewing Company in Shirlington.  Our house champions, the Capital Hillbillies, were shorthanded tonight, only playing as a duo.  But that was all they needed (for the first four rounds anyway), as they held a comfortable lead heading into the final question.  But they got a bit tripped up on Corpus Christi, and had to settle for third place.  Our second place team was menace to Sobriety, who bounced back after hitting a big speed bump on their NBA history question.  Our winners tonight were the Stamp Collectors, who chose the first category next week of Charles Bronson.  See you then!  ~ Matt

Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD

One single question, that you think you know, but it turns out you don’t. That single question can make you or break you! It’s an amazing game of live trivia we play Tuesday nights at Champions, can never be quite sure what’s coming your way.

It was a toss up at the final- Teams who had been sitting pretty were cast down and people who had been commenting about getting kicked out of the WS were brought on high – it was fun to watch that final 5 minutes!

It was a thrill for Ignorance is Bliss to not only make it in to the top 3 but to get their playoff invite too- that’s a good night! 2nd went to Thundercats after a bit of a struggle tonight and 1st went to the enthusiastic Crystal Methodists! Nice job!! I will see some of you this weekend for playoffs and pub crawl- pay outs for top 3 teams! I will definitely see you all next week when we start with Steve Martin. Good luck!

Hollywood Casino – Perryville, MD

Tonight was officially the last night of the in-house Nationals Tickets Giveaway tournament that was going on at Celebrity Bar & Grill for live trivia!

The tickets winners had it sown up by last week technically, but I had to wait til it was official before the winner could be declared. Tonight’s 3rd place finisher was Can You Believe My Shenanigans! 2nd place tonight was Creswell’s Fairies!! With a VERY impressive fifth 1st place finish in a row, they were this seasons House Champs, they now are officially the Washington Nationals ticket winners and I hope they represent WELL at the World Series: give it up for American Outlaws!!!

Get out a flannel, put in some chew and grab a spitter, they picked NASCAR for next weeks preseason Summer Fling game, so study up and come out to Celebrity Bar & Grill at Hollywood Casino next Tuesday!!

Monkey La La – Frederick, MD

Between Liberia, mangoves, and hazelwoods we had a Season 11 Finale romp tonight at trivia night – La La style!

Tonight’s game capped off a stellar season of trivia at Monkey La La! (As an aside, I honestly can not believe how fast it has gone. It seems like yesterday we did our White Elephant gift exchange and ate Xmas cookies)! And our Season 11 House Champion is:

STINK FLOYD

And Stink also managed to grab the win tonight as well. 3QND pulled the 2nd spot and Spoony Richards did a number on the field with the ole’ final question snipe from behind! Great game and great time tonight everyone!

LA LA 3RD LA LA 2ND

I hope you enjoyed the season! And I wish all of you good luck this Saturday at the Pub Crawl and at Playoffs! The post-season is going to be sick fun! I am anxiously awaiting to see how it all unfolds.

Orioles Nest #331 – Frederick, MD

Today we welcomed everybody back after a (hopefully) long and relaxing Memorial Day weekend. It was blazing hot outside too, so I’m glad we were able to escape the sun and have a good time playing some trivia. Tonight between the African Geography question, discussion on the difference between Terminator and Terminator 2, and frequently hearing “What is sports??” being asked, there was plenty of sass to go around. We also had quite the challenging final question that led us to needing a tiebreaker.

Winning the tiebreaker, which was how much money Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me made worldwide, was One Crow Short of a Murder who took third place, nice job. Unfortunately that pushed Black Steel out of the top three due to a minor error on the tiebreaker, causing their guess to be much much lower than they actually wanted. Taking second place was the only team to get the final question right, congrats on the major jump to The Three Stooges! Winning tonight’s game, however, and putting the cap on an impressive season 11, congrats to The Book Club Babes on the victory! Next week we open up with a question on the short-lived (but really rather good) television show Party Down. I hope to see you all then, and good luck to any of my teams participating in the playoffs or pub crawl this weekend!

Until next time,
-Chad

Tilted Kilt – Frederick, MD

Whether it was the heat of the “Spring” weather or maybe just the intensity of the competition, but we were down to the trivia diehards at Tilted Kilt this week. For this final week of regulation play in Season XI, we got to crown a House Champion for Tilted Kilt!

We learned all about the shameful Lakers records, the downwards spiral of True Detective cast members, and just how many songs were in Batman films! (seriously, who knew there were songs besides Kiss from a Rose??) As the game wound down, the questions became harder, and the point gap between first and second began to disappear.
As we came to the final, newly-crowned House Champions Dewey, Cheatum and Howe were far enough ahead to make the final irrelevant. In third this week was Team Bushrod, who actually left before they could collect their prize! Second went to The French Connection, leaving first to the new champs. They’ve chosen Electra Woman and Dyna Girl as next week’s first category!! What a deep pull… See you all next week!

Quincy’s South – Rockville, MD

With no D+M, our Season 11 champion, here to defend their home turf, Uncle Jack came in for a visit and did some work on the field! But more on that in a bit. In tonight’s game we had a fairly jam-packed Quincy’s hosting our weekly game of pub quiz! It was fun!

Good energy, good people, this place is really coming into its own and for that I’d like to thank the players! Makes my job a hell of a lot easier when you guys come out and support us. Everybody wins! And I thank you for that. Tonight’s question of the night honor goes to Little Debbie, the young girl brought to us by the McKee company. That iconic straw hat, plaid shirt, and cute little smile that no one could forget, right? Well, wrong. Only about a third of the teams picked it up. I’m sure after the answer was announced, most people in the bar wanted to bang their heads against the wall, but based on the stats, this question was a burner (or a juicy one, to borrow a phrase from DG).

I’ll chalk this up to the beautiful people of Quincy’s keeping off of the junk food for the last 20 years or so. Rolling into the final, it was a run away for Uncle Jack, who had a commanding 17 point lead. They locked up the game to take down 1st place in our final game of season 11! Congratulations team, and way to put a wrecking on the field here! 2nd place went to Bazinga’d, who had a bit of extra help from a familiar face… 3rd place went to Anderson Cooper? I Don’t Even Know Her! This was our last game before the post-season. Hope you all feel ready and up for the challenge! I wish everyone the best of luck! We’ll be back next week for more Tuesday trivia at Quincy’s where the first category will be KATY PERRY! Uncle Jack knows what I likeeeeee 🙂 …. (that wasn’t supposed to sound creepy)

1st Place: Uncle Jack
2nd Place: Bazinga’d
3rd Place: Anderson Cooper? I Hardly Know Her

Next week: KATY PERRY!
