Like a rock? That’s Pour House Trivia, I think! Thursday’s live trivia recap!

Pour House pub trivia’s Thursday night got your blood pumping with a little circulatory system action, and never slowed down!

Totally NOT TRUE facts of the night!

  • Mr. Ed was actually played by four children in a suit!
  • Rooney Mara pushed for a title change to the girl with the SEAHORSE tattoo!
  • Chopin’s Minute Waltz was initially called the two-minute mania!

Check the games!

Bunkers – Leesburg, Virginia

The Washington Foreskins might not have had their best night, but they made me laugh a lot with their wrong answers. The Foreskins suggestions included:
  • Ecto Cooler as knee fluid!
  • “Poems are made by foolks like me, but only God can…Watch me pee!” I wish that didn’t make me laugh so hard. Dr. Seuss penned that one, apparently.
  • Marion Barry was NOT rescued by the US Army.
It wasn’t just The ‘Skins getting in on the jokes, we had some other fun answers for that army question from others, as well.
  • Mary Lou Fatigue!
  • Beyonce Knowles!
Close, but NOT QUITE.

The final podium, after it all shook out with that tough final question, looked like this.

In third, Sic Semper Tyranis!

In second, Cranius Maximus!

And in first, ruining our Latin theme, Team Spam, who’s been on quite the roll!

Our first category next week is the World Cup.

See you then!

Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD

Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome as I sat in tonight for Denny at Champion Billiards Sports Cafe’s Thursday live trivia game. I had a lot of fun!

STDB pulled out the win in the end, with Just Good Enough holding on to place 2nd. The Vitrifiers were right near the top for the entire game, and walked away with 3rd.

Denny will be back next week, and your first category will be the band Rush!

Guido’s – Frederick, MD

It was a nice mix of teams that showed up to Guido’s Speakeasy for trivia tonight, even if there were more new teams than regulars!

Not a whole lot of movement in the top 3 during the game, but the final question did affect the 2nd and 3rd places!

Finishing in 3rd tonight was Executive Decision! The only team to get the final question right, moved from 4th to 2nd tonight… T.N.C.!

And holding onto 1st place with a smart final wager was Esophagus Now!!

They chose “MTV Unplugged” for next weeks winners choice category, so study up and I hope to see everyone back next Thursday night for some Pour House love!!

Quincy’s – Gaithersburg, Maryland

It was great to be back at my normal Thursday night stomping grounds (although Las Vegas is certainly a close second), but our usual field was ready to go for trivia night at Quincy’s!  Out of the gate, it was Boats and Ho’s putting on a clinic as they roared to the lead, topping 90 points at the half, and continued that dominance as one of the few teams to pick up 6 points on the John Wayne 6-4-2.  A slight hiccup in round four (I don’t blame you for not knowing Justin Timberlake’s latest album title) dropped them out of the lead, but it was still anyone’s game as we got to the final question.  From there, EVERYTHING changed, as it was Lowered Expectations who was the only team in the top ten to hit the final, and they came back from 7th place to take the win!  Great job!  Not As Smart As We Look took second, with I Just Quizzed My Pants in third.  Blue Collar and Boats and Ho’s also scored some extra standings points thanks to the expanded field.  Next week starts with a question on The Big Bang Theory!  ~ Matt
