Let’s go Terps! Packed houses for Thursday Pour House Trivia!

Pour House pub trivia’s Thursday packed in five great games of pub trivia on this gorgeous day!

We had a lot of fun, but I think the truth is this: all eyes are on the Terps tomorrow!

Let’s GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MARYLAND!

Bunkers – Leesburg, Virginia

Looks like a lot of folks are still recovering from their St. Paddy’s Day action as we had ourselves a light game of pub quiz here at Bunker tonight. Thanks to all of you who came to play, and I hope to see the rest of you back next week. 😉

Here are tonight’s results:
Thundercats in 1st
The Indians in 2nd
Touched by Cosby in 3rd

Our first category for next week is Comedy Central’s South Park, see ya!

Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD

I do enjoy substituting for my fellow hosts! Getting to experience a different bar, different teams than my normal routine is always fun! Thank you all for having me tonight for a great game of pub trivia!

Highlights of the Game:

In “Starting-Things-Off-With-Egg-On-Your-Face”: The Irish History category was a tough way to start things off. Easter was tougher to come up with for some teams! Get it? Egg on your face? Easter? Get it? I’ll show myself out…

In “Puzzle-Page-Problems”: Tonight’s puzzle page saw some tough answers, especially Odin on his six-legged horse. One team put Avatar. While I see the animal’s resemblance, teehee!

In “Total-Doozys”: The directors question hit hard tonight; only a few teams got credit tonight, and it made things certainly interesting going into the final stretch!

After a tough final question, we had our podium set!

In third place, Dewey, Cheatum and Howe! Good to see you guys, and a good game!

In second place, Just Good Enough! Well done!

In first place, Power Vacuum took it down! Congratulations guys, great game!

For their round one category next week, Power Vacuum chose 17th Century Science! Should be an interesting one! Thank you all again for having me host this week! It was fun! Have a great time next week; Denny will be back with you!

Until then,
Ian

Fish Market – Alexandria, Virginia

It seems like every week at the Fish Market we set a personal best. Tonight we had a field of 16 teams!! Holy cow! At this rate we may need to start seating in the bathrooms! Do not let the large numbers discourage you, KEEP COMING OUT! The more the merrier! Marry her? I don’t even know her! Hahah. Ugh.

Anyway, tonight’s game saw Welcome to You’re Doom (with a bit of out-of-town help) holding on to the top spot for a majority of the night. A couple shout-outs to a few new teams that played a hell of a game including Wingnuts and Hot Fudge Sundae! First time for both of them and they ended with very respectable scores! Wingnuts held 2nd place going into the final tonight but failed to come up with a correct response 🙁 This opened the gate for You’re Killing Me Smalls and Two Birds One Stone to jump up into the top 3! But it was You’re Doom who nailed the final and solidified the victory! Grats! We’re back next week with more live trivia, come on out and play a lil with us 😉

1st Place: Welcome to You’re Doom
2nd Place: Two Birds One Stone
3rd Place: You’re Killing Me Smalls

Guido’s – Frederick, MD

Another fantastically competitive game of live trivia is in the books for Guido’s Speakeasy!

Lots of the usual back and forth between all the teams fighting for the top spots, what was MOST interesting to me was the fact that after the 6-4-2 bonus question, I had a 3 way tie for first place! That sort of thing always makes me nervous going into the final, but luckily for me, round four squashed that problem and broke up all ties!

After the final question was asked, this is how it ended up tonight: Moving up to 3rd place after the final was Friends of Dick Johnson! Holding onto 2nd tonight was Not Quite White!! Tonight’s game winners haven’t been in for a while, but it was great to see them back in the house kicking some butt, even if it was with a new name. Your Thursday night champions at Guido’s week was Boner Of a Lonely Fart!! Welcome back kiddies!

They went with a very interesting winners choice selection for next week, “Sexually Active Popes”(yowza!), so study up and lets have some more fun next Thursday night for trivia at Guido’s!!

Main Street Oyster House -Bel Air, MD

Helllllo Main St! It was fun to be back in a very chill vibe bar, I recognized a few faces from my past time done out that way 😉

Way fun to be welcomed with hugs when you’re just subbing! We had a nice, intimate game of live trivia on this week without Maynard, except of course for the jokes about putting out and ladies grabbing bags. Sigh.

Such a naughty bunch 😉 In 3rd tonight, speaking of naughty, it was the Anal Bum Covers! Nice Job! 2nd went to the only team to get the final correct, Flash Ninjas! First though, in first … were the Jaguars. Oh my, oh yes. That zero wager has saved a few tails tonight 😉

Thanks for being so kind tonight- I will see you next time all. For next week, you will have Maynard back and a first category of the human body.

Not a show and tell question. Just sayin!

Quincy’s – Gaithersburg, Maryland

Well, the regular teams at Quincy’s were not suffering from a St. Patrick’s Day Hangover, as we had 16 teams cram in for some basketball trivia fun!  The game could not be any closer, and the two-point bonuses made a huge impact on the game, as many of our teams were so close on a lot of bonus questions.  However, that set up some intense drama for the final question, as there was a three-way tie for first!  But just one of those teams was able to come up with the correct response on the final, and so it was Lowered Expectations returning to the winner’s circle!  A brand-new team, Hillary@Hotmail.com, jumped three spots on the final to take second, with Second Place is First Loser rounding out the top three after their best performance of the season.  Next week, we begin with a little “Breaking Bad”.  I’ll ‘cook up’ a good question and see you next week!  ~ Matt
