Juicy J and Jack Daniels? Must be Pour House Live Trivia Monday!
Pour House pub trivia‘s Monday poured you a tall drink from one of my favorite wise men, Jack Daniels, fired off a few rounds, and introduced a childhood favorite of mine, Little Giants!
Now, pour yourself a drink and get to the game recaps!
Blue Sky – New Market, MD
Tonight’s game of live trivia at Blue Sky Grill in New Market may have been small, but it was nevertheless full of thrills, chills, and something called Juicy J. I dunno… does it come in boxes like Ssips? Or Ecto-Cooler? Anybody remember Ecto-Cooler? Hello?
Anyway, we had fun tonight discussing guns, Jack Daniels, the benevolence of Pope Ambivalent the Second, and the greatest drag name ever: Seacookie Snapperbiscuit (dibs!). It was neck-and-neck for most of the game, but Dewey Cheatum & Howe managed to pull ahead in the home stretch and snag the top spot with Holy Shirts & Pants finishing second – both with highly impressive scores.
What would Christmas be without some ’80’s nostalgia? Next week’s winners’ choice category is the movie “Sixteen Candles.” I’ll see you here next week, same Brat-time, same Brat-channel!

Del Ray Pizza – Alexandria, VA
Christmas is in the air and you could feel it tonight at DRP in Alexandria as all the red, green, and golds were prominent among these fine live trivia players.
Very fashionable bunch! High School Prom has been on a tear and pulled out another win in a very close game. Give it up to HR PuffnStuff for playing a stellar game for 2nd, and Del Ray Posse were on point as well, taking 3rd.
Our first category for next week is right in MY wheel house, “electric guitars“. Cya then! ~ Ronnie
Greene Turtle – Hagerstown, MD
It was a roaring good time for live trivia tonight at Greene Turtle in Hagerstown!
It was crazy close race throughout the night, with some leap-frogging on the scoreboard. In the end, the third place prize winners were DJ Squared! In second was It’s Just Toothpaste! But the top dogs for the SECOND WEEK IN A ROW were Cotton Candy!!
Their choice of first category for next week: CASABLANCA (the movie)! See you next week!

il Forno – Frederick, MD
Lots of questions doing some nasty damage to our teams tonight! As the season is getting closer and closer to the end, it seems the difficultly is rising a bit. Song clips, comic strips, movie settings, “night” things, holsters and bolsters, lots of juicy trivia tonight!
The team seeming the least phased by all the terror was That’s So Wes Craven, rising once again to the top of the pack (strongly due to the return of ringer/unofficially dubbed “ancient man” Bill Todd). Wes Craven played as a duo tonight, a duo who has had much success at this bar in the past. Confidence rang strong with these two as they handed me a slip with “Next week’s category: 3x 50/50: Bill’s Grandma or Ronnie Barrett” written on it as they turned in the correct response to the final question. Cocky? Maybe. Fitting? I wouldn’t have expected anything less.
Perhaps the biggest catastrophe of the night was the Little Giants question, which not only prevented many 2 point bonus and high wagers, but also stole the 5 point bonus chip from nearly half the field! It is a must-watch film. I may be biased, because I grew up with it, but seriously guys, it’s the most fun, haha. As you could tell from the beginning of this post, the game was in fact won by That’s So Wes Craven. 2nd place went to Latrilla & the Mossy Banks, 3rd went to I’m with Geoff. We’ll be back next week, same time, same place! Until then guys, I’ll see ya soon!
1st Place:Â Â Â Â That’s So Wes Craven
2nd Place:Â Â Â Latrilla & the Mossy Banks
3rd Place:Â Â Â Â I’m with Geoff
Next week’s category:Â Â Â Triple 50/50: Ronnie or Bill’s Grandma
Roast House Pub – Frederick, MD
The Roast House may not be the biggest venue out there, but we know how to pack ’em in for a rowdy night of Pour House Pub Trivia! With what I like to call “Traveling Season” in full swing, we saw house regulars duking it out with traveling teams for trivia supremacy!
Highlights of the Night:
In “Best-Wrong-Answer-Of-The-Night”: 30 Days and 30 Nights is unfortunately neither the correct name of the movie (it was 40 Days and 40 Nights), nor does it have to do with vampires. At least, not that kind of sucking…
Let it be known, I am adding to your reading list Roast House. You all need to read Ms. L’Engle’s Time Quintet, they are fantastic books! So that makes it The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and the Time Quintet. Get reading!
In “Anti-Climactic-Ending-Of-The-Night”: Everyone got the final right tonight! So it would come down to wagers!
In third place tonight, battling hard all night, came Better Late than Pregnant! Way to hang tough guys, good game!
In second place, charging into the final with everything they had tonight, came the Dewey Decimators! Well played guys, very well done!
In first place though, leading all night, Multiple Scorgasms reclaimed their throne after last weeks stumble! Congratulations guys, you earned it!
For their first round category next week, the Scorgasms have chosen Nancy Sinatra! So get out your Go-Go boots and get ready to get down and funky next week!
Until then,
Ian
Spider Kelly’s –Â Arlington, VA
Since we have some consistent competition each week at Spider Kelly’s we rarely have a team wrap up the game before the final question is asked, but all that changed tonight as the Rocket Surgeons put on a clinic. Â There were FIVE questions in which they were the only team to snag a 2-point bonus, and those added up quickly, giving them a 16-point lead after round four. Â They got the final anyway, and took home their second win in three weeks. Â Magic Grits took third with Buffaloes Don’t Have Wings in third. Â next week, we begin with a question on the Vietnam War. Â ~ Matt
