Pour House pub trivia’s Thursday was oh so much fun, even if some of our games had to get out of the way of some football action. We didn’t have any quarterbacks for you, but we did have Nickleback, which kind of counts, right? Check out the games!

Friends, I want to thank you again for all the lovely nights of pub trivia and hanging out with you lovely people!
I loved hanging out with all of you, and will miss it – thanks for making my last night so much fun, even if it was a blitz-ey, super fast night! And kudos to all of you for your speed in turning in answers!
Thanks again to The Washington Foreskins for the delicious cupcakes, and happy birthday to Laura from Cake or Death! Though we sprinted through a game, we had some fun with answers, like The Mod Squad, which apparently starred both Samuel L. Jackson AND Burt Reynolds. I never saw that version, but I kind of want to!
In first tonight, Your Mom! In second, by just one point, were the Indians, who unfortunately played over the 7-player limit! Because of that, the Thundercats took home second! Thoroughly Confused weren’t so confused tonight, and they brought home third.
In continuing their vexing categories, Your Mom has chosen “Things My Kid Will Eat.” You guys have fun with that one next week!

Bada Bing Bada Bang Bada Boom! We had to put the ol’ blitz game of some live trivia on at Champions tonight in Frederick, MD. And blitz we did! Had the game done at 8:45pm, just in time for Washington Redskins action. And while our Skins may have had a rough night on the gridiron tonight, we had an awesome game of trivia go down in our 105 minutes of fun!It started out with me having the opportunity to jam out to some blasts from my past! Saigon Kick rocks! And if you’ve never watched the the White Lion video for “When the Children Cry,” YOU NEED TO DO THAT NOW please. [th_youtube id=’iAFH2_3o-oo’ name=’White Lion Trivia Trivia Pub Quiz Maryland’] We navigated our way through some fun questions in the early rounds – from Powderpuff to Wee Man – before Gaza Strippers started to leap out in front! They are a new team to Champions but played pretty darn sporty! Excellent game GS! Hope to see you all again at the ol’ Thursday night game! 
The 2 spot was taken down by our friends over at Vitrifiers, who had the full crew tonight and are always a threat! GG Vit!
And to round it out, we had a Beatles tie-breaker between Phlitches and Just Good Enough. Please Please Me at 2 minutes flat…and 3 goes to Phlitches! Great stuff y’all!
Though our time was compressed tonight, it was still an awesome evening of bar trivia and I very much thank all of you for playing tonight! It’s going to be a great fall 2014 my friends! Let’s hang out again next Thursday. In fact, Gaza Strippers have already given us a little homework; a Pour House 1st time category: “The Anglo-Zulu War.” Oh yes! That’s gonna happen! We had a great game last night at Guido’s for live trivia!
Lots of close scores, ties and lead changing all night long!! But after the final question and everyone’s wagers, I didn’t even need a tie-breaker! Finishing 3rd last night was T.N.C.! 2nd place ended up as the Merry Wives of Jesus! Winning it all this week was Stink Floyd!!
He decided on “Stage Names” for next weeks winners choice question, so study up, and I’ll see everyone next Thursday night at Guido’s!!

Good game of pub trivia tonight!
Ravenclaw proved their wisdom when they came in first place. Nattie Boh wasn’t bothered they took second like champs, and Clever Team Name was pretty clever when it came to their response for the Mod Squad!

Quincy’s – Gaithersburg, Maryland
Well, after tonight’s game at Quincy’s, I was a bit worn out. We managed to squeeze in a full game of trivia with 13 teams in about the fastest possible time, and so of course, the win came down to a tiebreaker. Lowered Expectations managed to sneak by Warning Track Power to take home first place. WTP jumped up several spots on the final, as did Caged Wisdom, who took third in their first game back after a long hiatus. Next week begins with a question on the Lyrics of Cole Porter. See you next week for a more leisurely-paced game. ~ Matt
