Capitol City Brewing Company – Arlington, VA
Another week at Capitol City Brewing Company in Shirlington, and the Capital Hillbillies were gearing up for another victory to make it three in a row. Tonight, they were playing as ‘Straight Outta Shirlington’, and were trading blows with ‘Title One Forever’ all night. The rest of the field began to fold as the night wore on, and these two heavyweights were tied for the lead, heading into the final with 10 points between them and the rest of the pack. But only one of these two answered the final question correctly, and indeed it was Straight Outta Shirlington that hung on for their third win a row! Great job! Megyn Kelly owes us an apology took second, with Aaron Neville Bullhorn in third. We’ll begin next week with a question on “Parks and Recreation”! ~ Matt
Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD
Champions! Thank you for celebrating my birthday with me! There were cheers, sundaes, and even a balloon by the end of the night. Thank you for the well wishes, and for the drinks 😉 The game was a fantastic way to spend my night, there were some pretty serious numbers being put up by the end of the night… heavy hitters for the end of the season!
In 3rd it were the Thundercats who have found their way home again, 2nd went to the gentlemen of 2 Live Clue 2 and 1st was the ever competitive Wiser but still dead.
Nice job, I will see you next week when we will start out with the Ohio River.

Before I recap the game I would like to send out my sincere condolences to the family and freinds of Jim Grenning. And thanks to John and Cathy Schulien for taking a moment to honor him Tuesday at trivia night.
We were all certainly wound up for a wild game of live trivia at La La for sure Tuesday night! The question set had some great little morsels tucked in and some monsters as well! I’, talking about you SMUT! CUBE! FUSILI!
But we managed to throw down quite a game. the final round kept things close and when it was all said and done our top 3 looked like this:
Congrats y’all! And after all the antagonizing of Kirsten last night regarding A PARTICULAR cold bevi; Wrecking Ball was able to have the last word with their choice of winner’s choice category: ROOT BEER!
Brush up on that my friends and I will see you next Tuesday night for some pub trivia at Monkey La La 🙂 DG
Orioles Nest #331 – Frederick, MD
Today’s game started out pretty normal. Everybody was having a good time and almost every team was doing very well. The halftime page proved to be a bit easier for most teams, and it seemed at this pace scores would be high. Throughout the first half things were pretty close, no team really staked out a really big lead. However, once we hit round three, that’s when things got really interesting. That’s when the round from Hell began.
Round three started with a question about a set of movies starring a particular line of Hasbro toys, except this time it was about G.I. Joe, not Transformers. Immediately after that came a question about Italian cuisine, which stumped most teams as well. A few teams understood the Seinfeld reference in the question, however, and were able to come up with fusilli (Kramer makes a Jerry figure out of fusilli pasta in one episode). Next up in the nightmare round was a question about a U.S. Congressman, asking about the first Islamic senator in the US. Things got ugly when the next question, math terms, came up, as the phrase ‘convex regular hexahedron’ just sounded like gibberish to most teams, myself included honestly. The answer, however, was something much easier to figure out, with the answer being a cube.
In round four the only question that ended up being rather difficult was the fungi question, as only a few teams knew that smut is a type of fungus, as well as something inappropriate or offensive. Headed into the final question, one team managed to escape the hell round mostly unscathed and built up a decent lead. The final question being about geography, more specifically US rivers and lakes, led to some defensive wagering by the leaders. That ultimately worked out for them, as they would have dropped farther otherwise, but third place ended up going to Cranius Maximus. Second place tonight went to the Smarty Pants, who were one of a few teams to know about the Fusilli Jerry and to know smut. Winning tonight, however, managing to leap into first and appearing completely surprised about it, congrats to I Took the Liberty of Fertilizing Your Caviar! Nice job guys! Next week we start with a question about Georgia Tech Football, so I’ll see you all then!
Until next time,
-Chad
Tilted Kilt – Frederick, MD
We had a close game this week, despite my impending cold. With the Summer Fling tournament drawing closer and closer, teams are scrambling for those crucial points in order to qualify to “Go to the Dance”. (It’s not a real dance… or is it?!?!?!)
Along the way, we learned about Queen Mary I’s drinking problem, the many Northern “M” states, and my weird obsession with Gavin Rossdale. Look, it’s a thing, we went there… moving on.
As we headed into the final, it was still anyone’s game. Some strategic betting was for naught, as every team nailed the final! In third was the Know Nothings, popping in for a quick game of trivia this week. Second place went to The Duchess, and in first were the NoTalent Rummies!
The Rummies have selected, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV Show)” as their first category, so sharpen your stakes and I’ll see you next week!

2nd Donald Trump speech writers
3rd Squirrel Mini ipod
Gilligan’s Island is the first category for next week – see you then!
Quincy’s South – Rockville, MD
The summer is coming to an end close but it seems like it’s still HOT IN HERE over at Quincy’s! Great turnout tonight, teams coming out to join us, hoping to get in some much needed trivia reps before the summer season ends. Tonight’s game saw Uncle Jack play an incredible game against a large field!
Tonight’s question of the night was the Math question! Tricky wording, a “convex regular hexahedron”, but a well known answer.. That’s just a cube! Convex, essentially saying its a 3D shape, regular, everything equal, hexahedron, six faces. That’s a cube! Probably not the best at explaining that one but I promise it works! Haha… Ugh… Anyways. Uncle Jack was killing it, leading by 18 going into the final, which as we know is a lock game, as long as they don’t pull a Clavin. Well, they didn’t. So congrats! 2nd tonight went to The Big Fact Hunt, 3rd to Team Connor! Uncle Jack is a trivia juggernaut at Quincy’s right now. We’ll see who can take em out next week! I’ll be here. Will you? Until then 😉
