Gilmore Girls and so much more on Tuesday with Pour House Pub Trivia!
Pour House pub trivia‘s Tuesday rocked an eight-pack of live trivia games, bringing you sweet action all over Maryland and Virginia!
Check it all out below.
Capitol City Brewing Company – Arlington, VA
Our last tune-up before THE BIG DAY on Sunday, and we had a lovely crowd of over a dozen teams on hand at Capitol City Brewing in Shirlington. Let’s just say that a tune-up might be the best way to describe tonight’s game, as several teams stumbled out the gate with a nine-point wager. The Capital Hillbillies (tonight playing as ‘Blatter Infection’) was one of the teams that started strong, cruising through tonight’s game, and had nearly a double-digit lead heading into the fourth round. But they were done in by the Oscars question, and had to take a back seat to That’s a Clown Question, Bro as we finished round four. A correct answer sealed the deal and Clown Question earned their first victory EVER! Not bad, considering they were one of the teams that lost nine on the first question! Blatter Infection did manage to hold on to second, with Menace to Sobriety taking third. Next week, we’ll begin with a question on “Saved By the Bell”. ~ Matt
Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD
If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a hundred times: You just don’t know how it’s going to turn out!
Trivia will teach you to stick it out and you may just stick the landing- that’s for sure! Champions tonight was the site of some pretty serious teams throwing down in a preworld series match up- flexing muscles after their win at Playoffs this weekend were the boys of BTI.
They were ready to throw in the towel tonight, convinced that it jsut wasn’t going to happen and yet by a twist of fate and some other thinking by others it was the boys for yet another win! 2nd went to Crystal Methodists who played a hellva game all the way up to 4th round. Keep an eye on them this weekend! 3rd were the largely unknown PowerMints who were showing that they may be PowerPlayers!
Champions is shaping up to be fun for Summer! We will kick off the summer session next week with an awesome first category: the lyrics to We Didn’t Start the Fire! Good luck on Sunday and I will see you there!

Cugini’s Restaurant – Poolesville, MD
Thanks to everyone for coming out to Cugini’s tonight for a tweener game of pub trivia! It’s not often that I get a case of the giggles so thanks for bearing with my while I worked it out of my system, thankfully without any “Toot and Puddles”.
Best of luck at the World Series this Sunday, I will see you there! Here are tonight’s results:
How I Met Ronnie in 1st
Lightfoot in 2nd
Level 3 Booksellers in 3rd.
MoMo had eight players tonight to score the highest, and your first category for next week is Cars of the 1960s.

Hollywood Casino – Perryville, MD
We had a couple new teams out for live trivia tonight at Celebrity Bar & Grill. And even though tonight’s game was just for fun, there was a nice battle between 2 teams for 1st place. Tonight’s 3rd place finisher was one of the newbie teams, the Minnesota Twins! Losing the battle for first place and finishing 2nd was American Outlaws!!
Tonight’s game winner was apparently an old team that just hasn’t been in since before I took over hosting duties here. Well I sure hope they start coming back on a regular basis again, Congratulations to The Gorams!!!
They picked “Pokemon (the original 150)” for the winners choice question to start off the Summer Fling season. Good Luck to American Outlaws this Sunday at the World Series, and I’ll see everyone next Tuesday at Celebrity Bar & Grill!!

Monkey La La – Frederick, MD
A delicious finish to Season 11 and a nice official welcome to the Summer Fling, which kicks off NEXT WEEK – La La was bumpin’ Tuesday evening! We had some crews come out of the wood work, and snatched a Top 3, no less vs. the La La vets!
What a fun set as well! And we were able to bring back the ole off season Lifeline (it’s NOT MULLIGAN for cryin’ out loud ;)) and the legendary ALL IN MOVE! As spicy as the set was already (I’m thinking Pewter and Paul Anka) these fun dynamics definitely added some other levels! Maybe we will do some more experimenting later in the summer 🙂
Congrats to our Top 3 this evening!
Good luck this Sunday everyone at World Series 11. I will see you there, with bells on – hope that’s not too distracting! 😉
And next week we kick off the Summer Fling 2015 with GUITAR SOLOS. Maybe an air guitar contest on the side? hmmm 🙂
See ya this weekend everyone! Love ya. DG 🙂
Orioles Nest #331 – Frederick, MD
In tonight’s game there was definitely a fair share of tough questions. The Gummi Bears question resulted in a 50/50 split between them and Teddy Grahams, although both are delicious! Also, I’m impressed by how many teams remembered the name Ron Dayne, I thought that one was tough. Asking about 2x best director winners was a good one too.
The 6-4-2 today was just full of what is called a ‘Pavlov’ in the trivia world. It’s called that because your immediate response upon hearing certain descriptors (i.e. Norwegian playwright) should be one specific answer (Henrik Ibsen), much like Pavlov’s dogs were taught to drool upon hearing a bell.
In the end, our final question provided one interesting change. The fall that Black Steel suffered was one of the more unfortunate in league history, as they dropped out of the top three. Taking third as a result was the Three Stooges with another fine showing. Our second place team couldn’t quite catch up to the leader, but congrats anyway to Ignorance is Bliss! Winning tonight after almost catching the leader is Smarty Pants, well done! We start next week with a question on heteronyms, so get to studying!
Oh and good luck to my teams at World Series on Sunday, I’ll see you then!
Until next time,
-Chad
Tilted Kilt – Frederick, MD
With the place packed for some sort of senior citizen birthday party, there weren’t a whole lot of seats left for hungry trivia players. (Even old people love TK Girls!!) Still, we had ourselves a fun game, with rowdy teams scrapping for the prizes in our pre-season game before Spring Fling.
Quincy’s South – Rockville, MD
Great finish tonight at Quincy’s leading up to our World Series 11 game this Sunday! I can’t WAIT to see how the game unfolds, but this was a good night to check out some of our competitors. I believe 4 of our teams from Quincy’s will be there Sunday representing, all 4 teams showed tonight and had a battle to the end. Question of the Night tonight has GOT to be Gilmore Girls! With the winner’s choice being Katy Perry and a regular round Gilmore Girls question, tonight was just oozing BP, and I had NO problem at all with that!
Gilmore Girls wiped out all but 2 teams tonight! For a show that most girls say they love and watch, it didn’t seem like a popular category here tonight. I definitely recommend watching it, it’s brilliant. Not just saying that, I think any and everyone would thoroughly enjoy it. That being said, The Big Fact Hunt had a 10 point lead going into the final question tonight. Behind them was Anderson Cooper, then Bazinga, and then D+M. These four teams, our 4 WS qualifiers, have battled all season long, and it was fitting that they held the top 4 finishing up the season 11 games. The final didn’t cause much issues so that’s precisely how our game finished. We’ll be back next week to start off the Summer Fling, until then guys GOOD LUCK at WS, I’ll see you in 7.
1st Place: The Big Fact Hunt
2nd Place: Anderson Cooper? I Don’t Even Know Her
3rd Place: Bazinga
Next week’s category: The Settlers of Catan
