Forget Throwback Thursday, Pour House Trivia Thursday is always looking forward!
We had a LOVELY Thursday evening of Pour House pub trivia!
I believe that’s two weeks in a row with questions that could at least in a roundabout way be tied into the greatest toy of all time…the LEGO brick! I never get tired of reading about or talking about it.
We had a collection of questions dealing with field, and let me tell you…that word gets WEIRD when you look at it too much.
Field. Field. Field. Field. Field. Field. FIELD!
Sheer lunacy, that one!
Now, you know I couldn’t let you go on your way without playing a song that will be stuck in your head all week…Just a steel town girl on a Saturday night LOOKING FOR THE FIGHT OF HER LIFE!
Let’s check out the games!
Bunkers – Leesburg, Virginia
We had some fast and furious swapping of podium places all night long!
A devastating miss on the nine-point question looked to be fatal for the Combustible Lemons, knocking them wayyyy down the board.
But they battled back, wagered well, and NAILED the final question to leap BACK into first place!
To figure out second and third, we needed a tiebreaker.
After that dust settled, second place went home with the Washington Foreskins!
Rounding out the podium was Cranius Maximus! Good game all!
And what a fun game it was. Bunkers is home to some very clever guys and gals – I had TOO MANY funny answers tonight, it was extremely tough to narrow things down!
We had some really interesting guesses for the voice of Inspector Gadget, including Don KNOTTS and Marc Summers! Can someone cut that together? Some audio from Unwrapped and Inspector Gadget? Please? Pretty please?
We also had fun with the eternally tough: “You know, the guy from that thing!” when trying to decipher a person’s name. This time it was “The Scarecrow from Batman Begins” instead of “Cillian Murphy!”
And to wrap it up, the holiday-themed best selling physical album: The Monster Mash!
Not surprisingly, the guys and gals of Combustible Lemons, who are apparently some pretty wicked players themselves, chose Roller Derby to kick it off next week!
Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD
Dan’s Restaurant – Boonsboro, MD
Fish Market – Alexandria, Virginia
Guidos – Frederick, MD
This spring weather has definitely warmed up those winter brains!! We had a great game tonight at Guido’s! It all came down to the final tonight, and we had some underdogs make their comebacks!!
In third we had a dedicated 4th Spy DUO!! In second was STINK FLOYD! But the top spot with a daring wager behind a correct final answer was A PATHETIC 5TH!!
Their choice of first category next week? TRIPLE 50/50 FOX NEWS OR THE ONION!
See you next Thursday!!

Quincy’s – Gaithersburg, Maryland
A record crowd at Quincy’s in Gaithersburg as 15 teams piled in for a great night of trivia. One of our newest teams, Lowered Expectations, rolled through the game and lead after each of the four rounds, but they could not come up with the final answer, and so it was Depends who was back in the winner’s circle after a March slump. Great job! Lowered Expectations did take second for the second week in a row, while Boats and Ho’s took third for the second week in a row. Can’t wait to join everybody next week! ~ Matt
