Back again at Belles in Frederick for our weekly Pour House battle, and it was once again a very close game! We brushed across everything from Pop-Tarts to Batman’s pole (tee-hee), with a splash of Shakespeare and a smidgeon of chaos theory. The most frightening revelation of the evening was that apparently the host of Howdy Doody may have been the fictional serial killer Buffalo Bill. Our teams forgot to check their horoscope today, which obviously would have helped them come up with the correct response on the final question, no mater what sign they are. Here are the final results:
First Place: Turd Ferguson
Second Place: Smarty Pants
Third Place: And We’re All Out of Bubblegum
Next week’s first category: “Gilligan’s Island”
We had a fun game at Pretzel & Pizza Creations on Saturday! Two teams kept battling back and forth for 1st place all game, and then after the final question was answered, neither of them finished in 1st! For at least two months now, any team that has rolled the dice with the zero wager on the final has had it backfire and ended up finishing worse from teams who wagered 12 and moved up. Finally, it worked out and the team in 3rd jumped up to 1st place because NO ONE got the answer correct! Dropping to 3rd place we had Four Eyes, slipping to 2nd was the Off Beats, and moving to 1st with that zero wager was Give Us Your Beer Money!!
Don’t forget that there is NO GAME at Pretzel & Pizza Creations next week, so we will be back on November 26th (right after Thanksgiving), when our first question will involve the Indiana Pacers. See you then!!

Recouping from post-election fatigue, we all huddled together for some trivia at Captain Bender’s tonight. We started with a unique Triple 50/50 to say the least, and finished up Round 1 on an appropriately presidential note. Round 2 started with some toons and ended with a nod to Chaucer. The halftime puzzle pages took you a little longer than usual, but you definitely didn’t disappoint when it came down to the wire! The scores were still pretty close going into Round 3, which began with some science and wrapped up with a little geography.
What Else Could It Be?!?! had a solid lead going into Round 4, but Boh’s & Hoes and Fisted Sister were determined to catch up. Starting and ending with word play, Round 4 was a nail-biter. And it all came down to four little letters… LULU! So who took home the prizes?
First Place: What Else Could It Be?!?!
Second Place: Boh’s & Hoes
Third Place: Fisted Sister
Next week’s first category: Billy Madision
See you next Sunday!
Another game is in the books from The Beacon! Our Sunday night game kept getting progressively more and more fun to watch, as a team that had a big, early lead kept getting smaller and smaller after rounds 3 and 4. After the final question, I’m Just Making This Up as I Go Along was 3rd, making a GREAT comeback but still coming in 2nd was Survivors, and holding on for the win was the Witiots! They’ve run their winning streak to nine games, and have chosen Presidential Elections for next weeks winners choice, so study up and I’ll see everyone next Sunday at The Beacon!!
