Don’t call us lackadaisical! Pour House Pub Trivia Monday Roundup!

Pour House pub trivia‘s Monday hit you with a little Star Trek trivia!

As a geek, I kind of loved it.

In fact, consider this my wholehearted endorsement of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

How fantastic is that?

Go watch it on Netflix, then…check the games!

Del Ray Pizza – Alexandria, VA

Thanks again to all the teams that packed the house for live trivia tonight at DRP in Alexandria, as always you are all a lot of fun!

Rubber Sheets Club is proving to be a force to be reckoned with as they walked away with the win tonight! Del Ray Dummies were right on their heels however, and finished in 2nd. It took a tiebreaker between JJT and TexPats to settle 3rd, with TexPats coming out on top.

Our first category for next week is Foosball!

Greene Turtle – Hagerstown, MD

Man, what a night of live trivia at the Turtle!

I’m still trying to catch my breath after THIRTEEN TEAMS piled in for a round of trivia tonight.

I often get to learn things while hosting trivia, but tonight I learned somethign that wasn’t on the set: Geena Davis is apparently a pretty good shot with a bow and arrow!

The final question had us all shook up, as Elvis might say, with 8 Mile knocking some teams all over the place!

In third after all the madness was The Yardbirds!

In second, Turtleheads!

The winners tonight were Complicated Tax Return, who are sending us into a little more scifi with Season 1 of Red Dwarf!

il Forno – Frederick, MD

Tonight’s game of pub quiz had the lead flip-flopping between Murder on the Polar Express and Latrilla and the Mossy Banks. Going into the final question, Latrilla held the lead by a slim margin. Only 2 teams managed a correct answer on the final which shuffled up the standings a bit. 3rd place went Latrilla who missed the final, 2nd went to South Paw Fish, who bet defensively, and 1st place went to Murder on the Polar Express! Great game guys. See ya next week!

1st Place: Murder on the Polar Express
2nd Place: South Paw Fish
3rd Place: Latrilla and the Mossy Banks

Roast House Pub – Frederick, MD

The Roast House was hoppin’ tonight! We had a packed house for pub trivia and it was a close one all night!

Tonight’s Highlights:

We had a threeway tie for 2nd at halftime, that continued as a duo for the rest of the game! It was as close as a game as we’ve had here!

Heavenly bodies…Ian’s Mom jokes…do I even have to go into detail?

We got our first entire-bar-boo at the mention of the Yankees. Everyone got the question right, but it’s good to see that this is very clearly O’s/Nats territory!

Tonight’s leaders throughout most of the game, Silent Titty Deadly Bang sadly whiffed on the final, but managed to hold on to 3rd place! Good game guys, that final was a doozy!

The only two teams to get it right, happened to be the two that had been in a tie for 2nd all game! With a wild tiebreaker, Team BTI went just a bit too low and settled for that 2nd place spot! Great game guys, you played well!

With the closer guess, Dewey, Cheetum, and Howe took down 1st for a back-to-back victory! Way to go DCH, congratulations!

DCH has chosen Formula One Racing as their first round category for next week! Strap yourselves in everyone, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride!

Until then,
Ian

Spider Kelly’s – Arlington, VA

Pour House Trivia is off and running at Spider Kelly’s in Arlington!  It’s a thrill to be hosting at such a great venue in a fantasic location in the heart of Clarendon.  We had five teams eager for some trivia action, and all five teams had some stellar players which kept our game very close.  We did discover that despite airing for the last 11 years, not too many people actually watch “Grey’s Anatomy”, but “1941” seems to be the favorite film for a lot of people.  Who knew?

Anyway, our fourth round finished with a TIE at the top of the leaderboard between ‘Liquor?  I Hardly Know Her’ and the Wildcats, but only one team was able to come up with the correct response on the final, and so it was the Wildcats who were our Opening Night winners.  You nasty, Twin took second by also hitting he final, with Rocket Surgeons in third thanks to a conservative final wager.

Next week begins with a question on Organic Chemistry!  See you next week!  ~ Matt
