Country music and moustaches? Must be Pour House Trivia’s Wednesday!
Pour House pub trivia‘s Wednesday was super busy, with a whopping nine games to shake your trivia thing at! It’s always fun to get a little information about our hirstute brethren! Me, I go classic, with the Selleck, but I wouldn’t begrudge you a Rollie Fingers either, or even a full beard, if you go that way! Groom yourself, then peep the games!
LET MY PEOPLE FLOSS! After the 10 plagues of Egypt question, one team mused “what if we put the 10 plaques?” which sparked a flood of dentistry jokes, including that one. However, the answer of the day had to be the final, although I might be biased since the answer was MY NAME! Tonight’s game at Applebee’s played out smoothly, and One Crow Short of a Murder returned from their brief hiatus to notch another win. In second was Car Ramrod, the only team, with We’re Going to Need a Bigger Boat taking third place. Next week we will be starting out with Chad sings Train as the opening category (ugh) so come on out early to hear me sing! See you then! Until next time, Chad B
New teams galore for pub trivia at Atlantic Grille in Urbana! We discussed everyone’s favorite big blue superhero The Tick, some Asian guys on a Bullet Train, and Yahtzee being the most popular party game in bars and frat houses! Strangers Have the Best Candy took the top spot but the real drama was in the battle for second! Momzilla and The Hounds had been fighting back and forth for second all night, but a combination of smart wagering and a correct answer enabled Team Summation to steal second from both of them! The Hounds impressively rounded out third. Time to break out your old Broadway albums for next week – the category is “Eric joins the cast of ‘Musical of Musicals, The Musical!'” I promise, it’s a real thing! If you’re at all a fan of musical theatre, I highly recommend it! See ya next week! – Eric 😀
The “white meat” of trivia nights – WednesdayTrivia Night at Bernies in good ole Hagerstown, MD: filled with mustaches, new teams and a generous helping of albacore tuna. 9 teams brought it Wed night in this December opener for the books!
Good to be back in Clarksburg with all my favorite teams tonight (including “My Favorite Team”) after missing last week with the holiday season! Hopefully everything stayed fairly in tact in my absence. I’d like to make a quick shout out to Mr. Phil Knight and his relatively unknown animation company Laika Studios! Relatively unknown because more than half of our teams couldn’t even name 1 film from this studio. Poor Phil! On the other end of the spectrum, I believe most of our teams were able to pick up 2 points on the “albacore” answer! I reaaallly wanted to get the game done tonight before the Maryland game started, but alas. Those of us that stayed after were able to catch MOST of the game. Even in the loss, they are still my favorite team. Speaking of my favorite team, “My Favorite Team” led early and clung to that lead throughout the game taking down the win! Grats guys. 2nd place went to Erotic Friend Fiction and 3rd went to a well-played game by the Trivial Pursuers. I’m curious… Someone left a rather explicit drawing on my computer at the end of the game and left before I could pinpoint the culprit! I’ll be investigating next week! I hope you’re better at lying than you are at drawing haha. Something to look forward to hehe 😉 Until then! 1st Place: My Favorite Team 2nd Place: Erotic Friend Fiction 3rd Place: Trivial Pursuers Next week’s category: General George S. Patton
It was good to be back at The Tavern in Olney after our week off for the holidays, and right off the bat, the coveted top spot was fought for!! One team did hold 1st for most of the game, but when we got to the final question, they only held a 5 point lead. The wager will always make the difference, and after tonight’s final, this is how the top 3 ended up: Holding onto 3rd with a smart wager was Men and Pausers!! So close, but finishing 2nd tonight was I Quizzed in My Pants!! Tonight’s winners have done it 3 games in a row now, Olney the Lonely!! They went with “Star Wars:The Original Trilogy” (episodes 4, 5, and 6) for next weeks winners choice question, so get yer buns out to the Tavern next Wednesday night for a dose of ME!!! ~ Jon J
Never a dull moment at the Revolution Bar! Just when you think pub trivia is gonna go one way, things take a wild and fun turn! Highlights of the night: Example of a good wrong answer, from the Country Music category: June Carter and Johnny Cash. Example of a bad wrong answer, from the Country Music category: Kenny Loggins and Kotato Potato. Learn from this, children. When a team jumps into the game at halftime, it means they were itching to play and finally gave in. When a team that jumped into the game at halftime suddenly is within striking distance of the podium, it means the final is suddenly a lot more interesting! Clearly, however, we need some remedial mustaches! Even with a word bank, there were errors?? Tsk tsk tsk! With only one team getting the final correct, the standings were pretty much set. In third place, a new team, G-Unit! Good job guys, good game! In second place, Mess and Jegg, the only team to get the final correct! Tough game guys, well played! In first place though, leading all night and making it back to back wins, came Movin on Up! Congrats guys, great game! For next week, Movin on Up has chosen Modern Country Music! Have fun studying up and we’ll see you next week! Until then, Ian
We welcomed many of your regular teams back to T.J. Stone’s after a week off, and as usual, we have a lovely time with some questions and answers. Trivia Newton John was cruising most of the night, but a late stumble cost them the lead, and allowed My Favorite Team to take down tonight’s win. A new team, Injured?, played as a duo, made a huge jump by knowing their animated films, and pulled into second place. All of the Marbles rounded out our top three. Our first question next week will be all about Iceland! ~ Matt

Wow that was one tight game of live trivia at Valley Grill tonight, more than half the field had a chance to get into the top three! Your Mom’s a Horcrux made it a repeat with an excellently played game overall! Southpaw Fish wagered smartly and secured 2nd place, and Buns of Anarchy rolled easily into 3rd. Thanks again to Jason from Frederick Magazine for coming out to snap some pics of our fine players here at Valley, and join me here again next week for our first category, The League! ~ Ronnie
