Pour House pub trivia‘s Monday closed out November and helped us move into December!
Check out the recaps, gang.
Season is heating up down here at DRP in Alexandria as we are getting closer to the World Series! Standing are real close at last look, you should go to Pourhousetrivia.com and see for yourselves!
Here are tonight’s results:
Worst Case Ontario in 1st
HR Puffnstuff in 2nd
Del Ray Dummies in 3rd
You will have a GUEST HOST next week for trivia so please give Nick a warm welcome.
Your first category will be Russian History, and I will see you in two weeks!
Just about done with the month of November, I hope you all had a good holiday! Now that the Thanksgiving and Black Friday is in the books, it was time to get in some more trivia play for season 12, one last game before December. Let’s talk about it, shall we?
Mostly my regular teams competing tonight, with one new team joining us. Our new team, Benny and the Belle, seemed to have a great time, hopefully they’ll come back in the near future. It’s always great when we get new teams and this was no different! Thanks for sticking around and hanging out with us!
Tonight’s question of the night was our jellyfish question. Much More Deeper, who I’ve dubbed our “animal trivia extraordinaire”, chose this one as their bonus category. Even with the hints, this might have been one of the hardest questions we’ve asked in a while. A relatively unknown species of jellyfish, apparently the biggest, called the Lion’s Mane Jellyfish, dominates as the biggest of all jellyfish. Despite not fitting the clues where we said “contains a possessive… references another animal… largest of all jellyfish”, I still had a number of teams lock in “Portuguese Man-o-War” for their highest wager, which may have been detrimental to their chances to win. I did have 1 team correctly name this animal. Points going out to Much More Deeper, my animal experts, the only team to get this one correct!
Going into the final tonight, I’m with Sarah pulled into the lead with Latrilla not far back. The final question played tough tonight, another one with only 1 correct get, therefore defensive betting would come into play. 3rd place tonight went to MC who bet a big, fat ZERO on this one, moving up a few spots with that. Latrilla and the Mossy Banks also locked in a zero bet which kept them firmly in 2nd place, but your winners tonight are Chicken McThuggets who were the ONLY team to come up with a correct response! Great game, back in a week!
1st Place: Chicken McThuggets
2nd Place: Latrilla and the Mossy Banks
3rd Place: MC
Next week: 2015 Terps Basketball
We had another wild night of Pour House Live Trivia at the Roast House tonight! Though a few teams were clearly still getting over the tryptophan coma, those that did fought tooth and nail for the podium spots tonight!
Highlights of the Night:
In “Has-Anyone-Actually-Seen-This-Movie?”: No one has apparently seen Boogie Nights at the Roast House, or at least remembered a character named Jack Horner. I don’t blame them; not a boogie Nights fan here.
In “Murderous-Puzzle-Pages”: Everyone did pretty well on the top half of the puzzle page, but the bottom half was almost entirely a disaster. Who knew that age matching would cause such heartburn!
In “Is-That-Even-A-Real-Job”: Only one team was able to pull the Postmaster General question tonight, which made the final wagering all the more important tonight.
With defensive wagering abound, the podium had a last minute shake up to end the night!
In third place, One Crow Short of a Murder!
In second place, Cher’s Zombie Army!
In first place, Multiple Scorgasms!
Great game everyone! Next week we’re gonna kick things off with some 2 Live Crew! Should be interesting to say the least! Study up, and we’ll see you next time.
[Editor’s note: Good luck finding a 2 Live Crew image without butts. We think you can use your imagination!]
Another great night of trivia at Spider Kelly’s in Clarendon, and another win for house house juggernaut, High School Prom. There was some tension on the final question, but there were one of the three teams to snag the correct answer, to make it three in a row!
Second place went to Knowers of Stuff, with Ives Mansion taking third. Next week, we’ll begin with a question on “Hamilton: The Musical”. ~ Matt
