It was a HOT night of trivia, with several teams in the running for the top prize when we rolled into that last question! Congrats to the teams that made it to the playoffs, we’ll crown your House Champion next week. Wow, it is starting to really heat up outside lately. Today was one of the hottest days in awhile, but I think the ridiculous thunderstorm helped to cool things down. But there aren’t many better ways to beat that heat than to play a cool, fun game of Pour House Pub Trivia, am I right? Tonight’s game we had questions about whistling, oysters (boy that turned out to be tough!) and some good old geometry/geography questions. I got to show off my unimpressed McKayla Maroney impression, and I got exposed as never having seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail (I’ve been meaning to get around to it, just never seem to find the time!). We even took the time to listen to some Jason DeRulo, even though I couldn’t find any of the songs where he says his name in the intro.
In the end, an interesting final question and some clutch pulls from some of the teams led to an interesting finish. Tonight in third place we had Cotton Candy, who seemed to hold that position for the whole game, but couldn’t quite catch up to our first and second place teams. In second tonight was The Bends, who were in first place for almost the whole game by a narrow lead, but couldn’t seem to add any insurance points, which ended up costing them. In the end, a clutch pickup on the Smash question and knowing who Anjelica Huston is helped propel our winners into the lead spot, and an IMMEDIATE correct response on the final led to another celebration for Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, nice job on the comeback win! Next week we start with the television series Archer, which is definitely one of the funniest shows out there in this humble host’s opinion. I suggest you get to studying on that, and I’ll see you all next week!
We WILL be having trivia on Memorial Day, just in case you weren’t sure whether to come out or not. The Greene Turtle will even be providing a free meal all day to anyone who has served in our military, whether past or present. That sounds like it should be a fun day, so I hope to see you all then!

When it rains, it pours. Seems like a fitting introductory sentence for tonight as the rain pounded outside while we had quite a catastrophic game of live trivia!
Well, it wasn’t too bad, but I myself was fighting a bad shoulder, a busted face, and a bit of a halftime mishap where I poured water all over my laptop and we had to finish the game caveman style. A special thanks to every one who played tonight, it was a tough day and it was quite difficult to keep it together but you guys really made it easy for me and for that I am very, very grateful.
So, as to not prolong the results of this night of trivia, tonight’s game meant quite a lot for our teams Latrilla & the Mossy Banks and I’m with Sarah. Both are tied for the House Championship with just 2 games left and tonight’s finish was very crucial to the finishing of the season. Both teams showed that they knew a win was necessary, finishing in the top two spots tonight, but what mattered was, who won it? Well here’s how the money places looked like at the end of the night. 3rd place tonight was MC, who missed a bonus chip in round 3 and could’ve very well taken the game had they not had that small slip up. 2nd place tonight was I’m with Sarah so your winners tonight, and favorites to take down the house championship next week, are Latrilla & the Mossy Banks! Just one week left, if Latrilla wins, the house is theirs! If I’m with Sarah wins, they take it unless Latrilla can finish in 2nd and force a House Championship tie-breaker. We’ll have that scenario planned out (though we don’t pray for it haha). Should be fun, hope to see you guys next week! Until then 😉

With the season winding down, the game was still good and heated tonight at the Roast House, thunderstorm be damned!
Highlights of the Night:
In “Let’s-Calm-the-Hell-Down”: Rowdy would be an understatement tonight! You guys were wild and crazy, hooting and hollering all night long; it was a blast, but still maybe tone it down a notch next time. 😉
In “Please-Don’t-Shoot-the-Messenger”: The stink-eye was strong tonight when I read out how to spell “Eat Mor Chikin”. Guys, I neither made the slogan, nor did I write the question.
In “So-Freaking-Close-It’s-Not-Even-Funny”: The puzzle page saw many teams trip on Nick Jonas. Joe and Kevin Jonas made appearances and unfortunately cost teams points. Right family, wrong brother!
The final saw a number of 0 wagers at the vague category, and unfortunately it cost some teams podium spots.

Spider Kelly’s – Arlington, VA
Make it two in a row for the Rocket Surgeons at Spider Kelly’s in Clarendon! Once again, they had to come from behind in order to take down the win, but it was a well-deserved victory once again. A few changes on the leaderboard after the final led to I Don’t Think It’s Contagious taking second, with Unadjusted for Inflation taking third. Next week, our last official game of Season XI begins with a question on the Triple Crown! ~ Matt
