Greene Turtle – Hagerstown, MD
Tonight’s game was full of difficult words to pronounce, especially that national park in Australia, ugh. I also had to try and pronounce Vichyssoise, a word I’ve never seen or heard before. Usually I don’t have difficulty with that stuff, but tonight was on a whole other level. Despite all that, however, we still had quite the game, with a difficult third round causing a bit of separation at the top. However, that all changed at the end.
The end of the game featured a final question that only a few teams got correct, leading to quite a bit of change at the top. In third place was one of the teams to get it correct, leaping over several teams was Thinkers and Dreamers! In second place was the team that was originally in the lead, Cotton Candy. In first place was the other team who got the question right, Ramrod, who jumped all the way up into first place!! Congrats on the victory! A very exciting end to a good game! We start out next week with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (my favorite of the trilogy, personally) courtesy of Ramrod, so go get some studying done.
Until next time,

il Forno – Frederick, MD
And that wraps up another week of il Forno live trivia! Great game tonight; the final made a HUGE impact on the outcome of the game, but we’ll get to that in a second. Quickly would like to point out that for the 1st time in a long, long time, we had a question COMPLETELY wipe out the bar. Absolutely no points were awarded to any team for the Continents question tonight. No one even got 2 of the 3 correct for wager points. Hardest question NA? Well, not NA; Africa, Australia, and SA I guess haha.
Going into the final MC held the lead, followed by Latrilla and I’m with Sarah. The final proved to be difficult, and with 50% of the field picking up points, the ranks shifted a bit. MC fell behind leaving the W for Latrillaaaaa! 2nd, with a little jump from behind was Fries Before Guys (playing as a duo this week), and 3rd was Middle Finger! Great game tonight! We’re back next week with Fushigi Yuugi (not sure if I spelled it right, its some anime thing I’ve never heard of) as our first category. Thanks Jesse. Ugh. Please come back and play with us!!! Until then 😉
1st Place: Latrilla & the Mossy Banks
2nd Place: Fries Before Guys
3rd Place: Middle Finger
Next week’s category: Fushigi Yuugi
Roast House Pub – Frederick, MD
The Roast House is always a wild night, and tonight was no exception! The teams were out for blood tonight in a fierce game of Pour House Live Trivia!
Highlights of the Night:
In “Holy-Big-Wager-Stumpers-Batman!”: It’s rare that the Winner’s Choice category is a total stumper. It’s even rarer when it’s a total stumper with a LOT of high wagers. But that’s just what happened tonight, and it shaped the rest of the game!
In “Done-Already?-Sheesh!”: My puzzle pages were not out long tonight before all coming back to me; I had three 20s and two 18s, making it one of the highest scoring puzzle pages in a while!
In “Could-You-Be-Any-More-Vague?”: I got a lot of stink-eye on the final. With only a year and slogan, I had a wide variety of answers, and only one or two correct ones! How would that shape the podium?
In third place, Spring Break Frederick! Congrats guys, way to hang tough!
In second place, after leading all night they went for a defensive wager: Two Finger’s Worth! Tough break guys, but still a great game!
In first place, one of the only teams to get the final correct, from behind came Multiple Scorgasms! Congratulations guys, what a comeback!
For their round one category next week, they chose the movie version of the Color Purple! Should be fun! Study up, and we’ll see you next time!
Until then,
Ian
Spider Kelly’s – Arlington, VA
All of our regulars were back for the another great night of trivia at Spider Kelly’s in Clarendon. While most of our teams breezed through the first half, the second half gave us a few speed bumps in the form of French food and state capitals. It seems as though everybody got tripped up somewhere on the hoe stretch, but we still had an incredibly close game after round four: as we had a two-way tie for first, and a two-way tie for third JUST ONE POINT behind the leaders. The final did provide some separation, but it was the good kind of separation for Unadjusted For Inflation, who pulled off their third win in a row! Eleven is a Prime Number took second, with Rocket Surgeons in third. Next week, we begin with a question on the music of Cole Porter (possibly sung by me). ~ Matt
