Pour House pub trivia‘s Monday brought you four games of live trivia in Virginia and Maryland!
The man with an achy breaky heart, Billy Ray Cyrus, joined us to discuss his acting career and we had a whole bunch more – read it on the blog!

il Forno – Frederick, MD
More season 12 action tonight at il Forno! The MNF game was a blow out but our live trivia game seemed to be a lot closer than that which may have played for a more exciting finish! Not as exciting as McDonald’s Breakfast coming to us ALL DAY EVERY DAY starting October 6th! Man, oh man – I’m glad it wasn’t only me who was excited to hear that; lots of my teams writing out their excitement on paper with their answer slips! Glad to see the sentiment! Sausage biscuits all day! Way too excited, I’ll never be in shape again, haha.
MC led at the half tonight followed close by Chicken McThuggets, who seem to have figured out PHT, getting a solid crew of 7 and finding ways to win. Chix McThugs, as they are casually known, won last week and played very well in tonight’s game. MC dropped a crucial 5 point bonus chip in round 3, leaving way for Chix McThugs to take the lead back!
Going into the final, we had a close one up top; a lot would matter on who got the final question correct, and who missed. The final played difficult tonight, only 2 teams coming up with a correct response. Those teams were MC and Chicken McThuggets, both cementing their place as the trivia juggernauts of Monday nights. It would come down to wagering. MC left the 12 bet that they were assigned; McThugs bet 7, as they were up by 6 points, seemed like the correct bet, and it was as it allowed them to seal the W with a correct response! Great game! 2nd to MC, and 3rd place tonight went to Piggy Doodles who were in 4th going into the final but moved up a spot with a strategic zero wager on the final!
We’re back in 1 week with more Season 12 action! By the way, when I went to college there was a restaurant the the school diner called Seasons 12, a delicious stir-fry hibachi type Asian restaurant. I miss it. And every time I write a blog post it makes me wanna sing that song from Avenue Q. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, google it. Until next week guys 😉

We had a crazy night at the Roast House tonight! 11 teams packed into
the bar, which if you know anything about the bar, know is a LOT!
Highlights of the Night:
In “Winner’s-Choice-Is-A-Bitch”: The Rugby World Cup Winner’s Choice
Category was a devastating start to the game, with only one or two
teams getting any points to start the game, with several higher wagers
getting lost early!
In “Think-About-That-One”: The question asked about a singer playing a
lead MALE character in a medical drama, before appearing in a a Disney
Channel show, yet so many teams put MILEY Cyrus tonight. Think about
that one for a second people!
In “Fourth-Round-Grinders”: The Fourth round saw swaths of devastation
cut through the teams, with the podium spots changing drastically
going into the final.
In third place tonight, with the strategic 0 wager, Three Fingers Worth!
In second place tonight, unseated from last week, Multiple Scorgams!
In first place tonight, as a duo, Interrobang?!

Spider Kelly’s – Arlington, VA
We had a FULL HOUSE for trivia at Spider Kelly’s in Clarendon, as 13 teams joined us in search of trivia supremacy. After four rounds, High School Prom caught up to our leaders and took an ever-so-slim lead into the final question. They were able to seal the deal with a correct response, and take home their first win ever here at Spider Kelly’s. Will it be the first of many? Two teams that would disagree would be Jimmy’s in Vegas and PC Principals, were tied for second just two points back after also getting the correct response on the final. PC Principals was ON THE NOSE with their tiebreaker guess (so maybe it wasn’t a guess…), and so they took second over J. I. V., who had to settle for third. We’ll begin next week’s game with a question “Magic: The Gathering”! ~ Matt
