Man, did I spend a lot of time watching terrible, terrible sitcoms as a kid.

We also covered the strange crossover of Greek Mythology and classic rock, Blue Collar Comedians and Canadian Crooners!

On to the games!

Dan’s Restaurant – Boonsboro, MD

The Summer Fling is off and running, and we’ve got some old teams playing with new neams over at Dan’s Taphouse in Boonsboro.  Last season’s house champions, Big Test Icicles, played a great game and was the only team to get the final question to secure the win.  It’s Just Toothpaste held the lead for most of the night, but had to settle for second, while Vicious and Delicious rounded out our top three.  Next week starts with a question on the film “Sixteen Candles”.  ~ Matt

Del Ray Pizza – Alexandria, VA

We kicked off the Summer Fling here at DRP in Alexandria and the final flipped the script on tonight’s game!

Give it up to MSC for pulling a correct final for first and Particular Set of Skills doing so as well to leap into 2nd.

After a tie-breaker it was Octopocalypse who finished in 3rd.

See ya again next week, where our first category will be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Greene Turtle – Hagerstown, MD

As always, we had a few new faces, and some returning ones in the mix in our game of live trivia at the Greene Turtle!

Fresh off the World Series, we had teams duking it out for trivia supremacy on this fine Monday evening.

The wrong answers that I loved this evening were:

• “Only losers with nothing to do on Friday nights” the sitcom!
• Our Canadian crooner is NOT Pour House Trivia maven Denny Grizzle, but I’m sure he appreciates the nod!

The final question tonight did some shuffling, moving our leaderboard all around!

In third, Complicated Tax Return!

In second, Cotton Candy!

And your winners, who took down the final question, Chances Aren’t!

il Forno – Frederick, MD

 The game after World Series is always a fun one! And the post WS smack talk is always lively as well! Thanks to all of the teams that ventured out to il Forno tonight for our opening night of Summer Fling 2014! From the looks of it, it’s going to be a great summer – one full of live trivia! 

 

I like the social idea with the scratch offs! I think I am going to do more of that; I so want someone to hit like a $10,000 scratch off after a trivia question! I handed out about 4 or 5 tonight for socials and other fun little contests – and of course Latrilla’s joke of the year – it was in fact “Old School Fads!” 😉 No one screamed so I assume the big $$$ scratch offs are still be had another night!

 

Continuing their momentum at Forno tonight was the Quick Pink and the Vine Gang crew! (I did in fact take some pics but my battery died and the flash didn’t go off so they turned out bad). Wrecking Ball slid into the 2nd spot and One Crow Short of a Murder managed an easy final answer but wagered the ole ZERO defensive maneuver. 

 

Congrats everyone. Remember you earn points wherever you play in the Summer Fling. Let’s do it again next Monday night when we begin with the category of “Tonight’s Live Trivia Game is Brought to You By the Letter J.” There ya go 🙂
