A Wonderfully Charitable Weekend of Trivia!
It was another great weekend of Pour House Trivia! In addition to our regular set of four games, we hosted a special event in downtown Frederick, raising money for Advocates for Homeless Families, a fantastic charity which is accomplishing so much for the less fortunate. This charity holds fundraising games twice a year, so if you missed this game, be sure to check out one of their great games during 2017. On to the recaps!

Belles’ Sports Bar in Frederick, MD
We had ourselves a quaint game of trivia here at Belles in Frederick, thanks again for coming on out tonight! These teams were pretty sharp tonight, and it was anyone’s game all the way through. Our teams did surprisingly well on what could have been a very difficult final question. Here are the results:
First Place: Uncle Jack
Second Place: Fat Kids are Hard to Kidnap
Third Place: Smarty Pants
Next week’s first category: Films Set in Boston

Pretzel and Pizza Creations in Hagerstown, MD
We had a couple of new teams join in our Saturday night game at Pretzel & Pizza Creations. But even some extra teams in the mix couldn’t stop two teams battling for 1st, that had a 40+ point lead over everyone else! Only one team was able to come up with the correct response on the final question, maybe they remembered the Super Bowl at which a certain wardrobe malfunction occurred. After that final question, this is how it ended…
First Place: The Off Beats
Second Place: Give Us Your Beer Money
Third Place: The I Don’t Knows
Next week’s first category: Jewish Food (Holla! Or should I say… Challah!)

Captain Benders Tavern in Sharpsburg, MD
Hot off of a Redskins win on an unusually warm fall evening we were back in action at Captain Bender’s! We kicked off the first round with the apropos category “The Campaign” and wrapped it up with a little sitcom fun. Round 2 began with my personal favorite, “Literally a Music Question”, and ended on a high note with some World Cities. Our halftime puzzle page was definitely magical in the best way, with a little word play mixed in. To start Round 3 we threw it back to the 80s and finished it with some Classic Rock. Then came our 4th and final round with our Holiday Hodge Podge curveball and finally some Medical Maladies before our Final Question on Movie Taglines led a few teams to the right answer of “Last of the Mohicans”. So who came out on top?
First Place: What Else Could It Be!?
Second Place: Boh’s & Hoes
Third Place: Fisted Sister
Next week’s first category: Obscure World Capital Cities (we’ll skip Brunei…)

The Beacon in Frederick, MD
Sunday night’s game at The Beacon was fun, but after the second round, there were no crazy flip flops or really close scores by the final. It was kind of weird… but only one team was able to correctkly answer the final question, and so our closing standings were as follows. Finishing 3rd were Wedding Crashers, 2nd place went to Cher’s Zombie Army, and adding another 1st place finish to the streak was the Witiots!! They decided on “The U.S. Presidency” for next weeks winners choice, so study up and join us next Sunday night for a game at The Beacon!
