A wonderful Wednesday with Pour House Trivia!
Pour House pub trivia‘s Wednesday packed in all the trivia you could handle with NINE games of live trivia on this cold and chilly Wednesday! We are in the thick of Pumpkin Spice season aren’t we, folks? I’m at about a 9 PSL a day habit – at this point I think my blood is more pumpkin than hemoglobin.
For those of you that thought the weirdest question of the night invovled Pizza Hut (actually, that’s ALL of you), here’s the proof:

Applebees – Frederick, MD
Tonight’s game at Applebee’s was full of ups and downs, starting with a tough question about a great show, Parks and Recreation. However, One Crow Short of a Murder proved they have the makings of a strong team with a first place finish. In second place was Happy Birthday Steven (You’re My Best Friend) and Fat Chicks and Politics held on for third place. Thanks for coming out and playing everybody, and again, happy birthday to Steven! Next week’s first category is the film Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, so time to study up with that good Will Farrell film! Until next time, Chad

Barefoot Bernies – Hagerstown, MD
We had an “INCREDIBLE” start to tonight’s pub trivia contest at Barefoot Bernies, literally! And the answer was “Jack Jack!”
Bennigan’s – Clarksburg, Maryland
You know the competition is fierce when the low score heading into the final question is in the 130s! All veteran teams tonight, everyone out to take the top prize. The final question proved to be pretty difficult: Just two teams tonight got a correct answer on the final tonight including Uncle Jack, who jumped up 2 places to snipe the victory in tonight’s game! Congrats! 2nd place went to Erotic Friend Fiction and 3rd went to Anderson Cooper? I Don’t Even Know Her. Tonight ALSO marks the first game that I can remember where NO TEAMS MISSED THEIR 5 POINT BONUS! I could be wrong but I hadn’t noticed it happening before. Are the teams getting better? Did I give credit for incorrect responses that I shouldn’t have? Who knows! But it happened. Next week will be our Halloween themed game (seeing as we won’t be playing trivia on the 31st) so come dressed up in costume and we’ll have a Costume Contest, hosted, judged, and ridiculed by yours truly (that’s me!). Should be a lot of fun. I might write up some Halloween themed trivia questions too for a little post-game fun! Hopefully we’ll see you all there!

Felt good to be back on the Mic tonight! I have missed my crew from the underground- all the cool kids go down below when the sun drops 😉 We had a good game with some dance moves, some swearing and not a little laughter. By the way, you find planets with telescopes not microscopes – just so you know – The ones who did know that were Team Wednesday who pulled themselves a podium spot, and this time around they were happy about it! 2nd went to Damn You Hugh Jackman, and they are so close to a first we can feel it! It’s gonna happen guys: you can’t be bridesmaids forever! Our winners tonight were no strangers to the top spot: Grab a Straw, You Suck! Nice job! For next week they have decided we will be starting with the much loved Battlestar Galactica. Good luck studying up 😉 ~Samantha
The Olney Tavern – Olney, MD
Another good battle of teams went down at the Olney Tavern tonight for live trivia! By the 3rd and 4th rounds it looked like first to 3rd were pretty locked up, but then we came to tonight’s final question and shook up the order of things!! Moving up to 3rd tonight was Olney the Lonely! Moving up to 2nd place was Moving Forward! The only team to hold onto their place from pre-final question and take 1st was I Quizzed in My Pants!! They chose “The Walking Dead” for next weeks winners choice question, so study up and get yer buns back to the Olney Tavern next Wednesday night!! ~ Jon J
Revolution Bar – Fairfax, Virginia
The Revolution Bar is always a good time, and tonight was no exception! Highlights of the night: We clearly need to have a Jon Favreau night some time. The lack of Favs knowledge makes me sad! That said, things turned around very quickly; only 19s and 20s on the puzzle page! Well done! The final was a doozy, and when the scores were finalized, the top three were separated by a point each! Who took what spot? In third place, Movin on Up! In second place, Mess and Jegg! And taking it down tonight, Team GT80 Sauce! Well done everyone! T. J. Stone’s – Alexandria, VA
What a finish to our night of trivia at T.J. Stone’s in Alexandira. It took a DOUBLE-TIEBREAKER to determine second place, as both the B-58s and Trivia Newton John were ON THE NOSE with the first one. They both knew (or guessed) that the first Pizza Hut opened in 1958. EXACTLY RIGHT! That was definitely a first… TNJ ended up squeaking by on the second tiebreaker. But that wasn’t even the top story of the night, as My Favorite Team was the only team to get tonight’s final, to complete their wire-to-wire victory. Great job! next week starts with a question on Halloween!
Well we heated things up inside tonight at Valley Grill Sports Bar with some serious live trivia action, here is how the game went down! Simple Minds with a come from behind win for 1st, Capt Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters for 2nd, and Mountain Misfits with a first time showing for 3rd.
