A wild Wednesday of live trivia with Pour House Trivia!
Pour House pub trivia‘s Wednesday got alliteratively wild – what else can you say about a night that included The Weinermobile, World Capitals and Word Origins!
We had our brand of live trivia going all over Maryland and Virginia – check out the games!
Atlantic Grille – Urbana, MD
Bennigan’s – Clarksburg, Maryland
The Cellar Door – Frederick, MD
Well Cellar got to see me get one of the biggest surprises I have ever gotten: My mom showed up from NY in the middle of round 3! I had no idea she was coming! So excited! And thank you for the cheering you gave all of us π
In turn I applaud Grab a Straw, You Suck for being one of two teams to get our final correct, that cemented the 1st place win for them tonight. The only other team to get the final was Team Wednesday who took 2nd and 3rd went to One Crow Short of a Murder after we had a new team with too many players on the field.
Great game tonight all, I will see you next week for a first question of The Strain, the tv show.

ββThe Olney Tavern – Olney, MD
We had quite a night of live trivia at the Tavern this evening!
Only the Lonely came into the night swinging, and jumped out to an early lead. With just a couple of small missteps, they were able to ride that early momentum all the way to victory, including being the only team to nail the final!
Second prize went home with The G Team – nicely done folks!
Third prize went to regular top-three finisher Quiz in my Pants!
Only the Lonely wants to talk nerdy next week, so Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 will start us off. Grab those D-20 and get ready to make some saving throws!
Revolution Bar – Fairfax, Virginia
Highlights of the night:
It was the last night for a few players on Movin on Up, who will be moving on up to Boston here in a few days, so we made the most of it. With lots of heckling and trash talk!
Mess and Jegg were psyched when they not only answered a football question correctly, but also got the 2 point bonus! They’ve been less than thrilled with most sports questions thus far so good on them!
Dad, I’m sorry, but the bar agreed with me: you claiming Steely Dan was the greatest American rock band was a silly statement. Though Steely Dan Rather might have been able to take the title.
When the final hit, the standings looked like this.
In third place, Mess and Jegg! It was a good fight guys, good game!
In second, Liquor? We Hardly Knew Her! Great game guys, well played!
In first, sending off their teammates in style came Movin on Up! Way to go guys! You will be missed!
In honor of their teammates departure, Movin on Up has chosen their destination, the city of Boston, as their first round category for next week! Study up!
Until then,
Ian
Our top teams went down to the wire on Wednesday night, as Wee Baby Seamus held a slim one-point lead over the B-58s heading into the final question. It proved to be a tough question, as only three teams were able to pull the correct response, and one of those was Wee Baby Seamus, who held on for the win despite being shorthanded and playing as a duo! Great work! The B-58s were right on their tail, also nailing the final to finish second, with the solo effort of Gone Squatchin’ taking third after moving up a few spots on the final. Next week begins with music of O’ Shea Jackson (a.k.a. Ice Cube). ~ Matt
Valley Grill – Middletown, MD
βDrunk Savants jumped out in front earlier and never surrendered the lead through the entire night of pub quiz at the Valley Grill Sports Bar here in Middletown!
Southpaw Kids, a combo team, were right on their heels for 2nd, and Team LaQueefa finished in 3rd.
Our first category for next week’s game is 80’s Hair Bands!
