A Torrid Tuesday of Pour House Trivia Action!

Pour House pub trivia‘s Tuesday was packed with wild trivia action!

We had six venues in action tonight, with a flurry of live trivia going on at each of them!

Read on to see how it all went down!

Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD

Oh Champions! We got some familiar faces back tonight and we had some of the age old rivalries get a good shake up with teams taking advantage of the summer fling rules and coming out to grab a game.

In 3rd tonight it was Cranius Maximus, a duo! The ladies were holdin’ it down… 2nd went to W, no strangers to the bridesmaid spot. 1st went to the Wiseacres crew with a great nickleback answer (See what I did there? 😉 ) to pull ahead…. I will see you next week when we start out with a question about the great state of Ohio.

Yep, not the most specific category we have had… so study up I guess? Good luck!

Cugini’s Restaurant – Poolesville, MD

It was another great night for live trivia at Cugini’s in Poolesville, and as always the fine players there rise to the occasion, and raise a few glasses too.

Lightfoot was our winners, but it sure was a close one with Drunk & Disorderly tight on their heels for 2nd.

The Murphs were right in the mix as well and took 3rd.

Our first category for next week is Children’s Songs. C’ya then!

Hollywood Casino – Perryville, MD

Lots of new faces for tonight’s at bar trivia Hollywood, but some good old regulars took the lead in the game.

If We Only Had a Brain scored 145 in the final round, while American Outlaws came in second. Black Flag racing hasn’t been around in a bit but they made their presence known with their 3rd place finish.

Next week we will be chatting it up hon, talking about the Baltimore Orioles from the 1970s.

Jekyll & Hyde Tavern – Frederick, MD

We had a fun night of pub quiz at Jekyll & Hyde tonight, and everyone playing was generous to put up with my apparent butchering of the English language.

Taking third place tonight was Brownie Points! Second place, winning the tie for second went to Young Tarts, Old Farts, and taking first place by nailing the final question was Beer is Good! Great game everyone!

Next week’s first category is going to be the Ebola Virus, so go read Outbreak, take two and call me next week for some more trivia!

Ramparts Tavern – Alexandria, VA

At Ramparts in Alexandria, we had another packed house as 16 teams filed in for trivia night, and It was a stellar performance put in by Ramparting Ways (playing as ‘Putin, Ukraine in the Ass!’). They held a slight lead after round two, but began to pull away with the only perfect score on the (slightly more difficult than average) halftime sheet, and turned on the cruise control the rest of the way. It’s their FOURTH win this summer! Great job! Our top three were rounded out by the Stamp Collectors and Lloyd’s of London. Next week begins with a question on Contemporary Latin Pop Songs. Seriously. ~ Matt

Monkey La La – Frederick, MD

So everyone at Monkey La La trivia night agreed to form a World of Warcraft guild and play some Warlords of Draenor (said deep and mysteriously like the guy who does movie trailers). Yes my friends…we are now full blown MMORPGers! We shall rule all the world…muuuhhhuuuhahahahahahahaa!

OK…perhaps not, but for the record, I would be down for that! I’d even vote Danny and Kirsten – our trivia bartenders – as the honorable guild masters 🙂

In between WoW commentary and La La inuendo at its fullest tonight, we had one veyy good game of pub quizzy-ness!

Esophagus Now put into gear tonight and took down the win in a straightforward fashion. On their trivia tails all night though was The Illuminati, who managed a very respectable 2nd Place. And rounding out our Top 3 this evening were the fine folks of 3rd Quarter Nosedive, who get extra props tonight for some very nice “wrong answers” – none of which involved my mother. Great game of live trivia tonight everyone. Next week our first category will be…BATMAN!
