A terrific Thursday with Pour House Trivia!
Pour House pub trivia’s Thursday night brought you SEVEN games of live trivia! We, as always, covered it all, from Australia to the ends of the earth. Check out the games!
Bunkers – Leesburg, Virginia
Another wonderful game of live trivia on the books at Bunker Sports Cafe in Leesburg! Cake or Death was our winner tonight, with Thundercats coming in a very close 2nd. Your Mom took down 3rd place in this very tight game. Our first category for next will be Album Covers! ~ Ronnie
Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD
There is indeed a little magic that happens when 20+ trivia teams hang out to play some bar trivia on a Thursday night! And tonight at Champions we had quite the magic show – Doug Henning would have been proud!
It certainly was a nail biter all the way through the final question as it could have gone any number of ways! The 1st Place spot was tossed back and forth like a hot potato. Questions about “Kareem Abdul Jabar,” “Mesopotamia,” and of course, “My Boo,” threw some wrenches in the game and made for a fun game of pub quiz to watch! Congratulations to our Top 5 tonight who get a little extra pointage (as we broke the 15 team mark). And much props to our our Top 3 who earned themselves a few ducats on top.
Fall trivia at Champions looks like it’s gonna be a blast! Have a great weekend everyone. Binge the TV show “Fringe,” as that is next week’s first category. This is one of my favorite shows! Very weird though…which I guess makes sense for me 🙂 Lotsa love…dg
Fish Market – Alexandria, Virginia
Tonight’s game of pub trivia was awesome as we saw a plethora of new teams join us for the game tonight! Going into the final it was one of our new teams, Two Birds, One Stone who were tied with our veterans Boner Garage. Two Birds missed the final, leaving Boner Garage alone to snipe the win, their 3rd in a row now! Grats! 2nd place with a little come-from-behind action was You’re Killing Me Smalls followed by Pumpkin Pie Haircutted Freaks who took 3rd. We’ll be back next week for more trivia fun! 1st Place: Boner Garage 2nd Place: You’re Killing Me Smalls 3rd Place: Pumpkin Pie Haircutted Freaks Next week’s category: You’re Killing My Small Boner (Boner LW FW Word Play sort of category….)
Guido’s – Frederick, MD
Nice turnout tonight at Guido’s Speakeasy! Not quite the normal game score-wise however! A lot of teams tonight had a good number of high wager WRONG answers which made the bottom to top of the order fluctuate throughout the entire game! It even came down to a tie breaker question to decide the top 3 teams at the end! So this is how it worked out after everything: Moving up to 3rd place after the final was T.N.C.! Losing the tie breaker to finish 2nd tonight was Three People Who Have Never Been in My Kitchen! Winning the tie-breaker, the game and next weeks first question choice was Stink Floyd! Your winners choice question at Guido’s next week will be “Triple 50/50:Horror Movie Title or Death Metal Album?” Good luck and I hope everyone and MORE can make it out next Thursday night to Guido’s!! ~ Jon J
Main Street Oyster House -Bel Air, MD
So Main St Oyster Bar was the site of the debut of our brand new host, Maynard! He had a great time playing with you all tonight, and can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for him on these Thursday nights! We saw some rather interesting characters tonight, with even more interesting answers. Colorful, that’s what you are. When all was said and done it was a sad tale for team Icarus tonight as they flew too close to Australia on the final and melted their lead. They fell from 1st to 3rd, 2nd place belonged The Heat, who were back in action tonight with some serious dance moves. 1st went to the the drug toting Pharmers, they are a force to be reckoned with folks, and they will be back next week for their first category of Pharmacy. Be careful studying for that one 😉 ~Samantha
Quincy’s – Gaithersburg, Maryland
It was a roller coaster of a second half at Quincy’s in Gaithersburg! There is a first time for everything, and tonight we had the top four teams in the standings miss the same quetion, and ALL FOUR OF THEM risked nine points. Wow! I guess a few folks were a bit over-confident on their knowledge of cheese. That obviously put an interesting spin on the standings. After that blunder, it was Lowered Expectations who bounced back by being the only team to know Richard Nixon’s history of poker playing, and they finished strong to take down the win. Blue Collar took second with Your Mom finishing in the money for the first time with third place. Next week begins with a question on our 26th President: Teddy Roosevelt!
That Cuban Place – Frederick, Maryland
We had a close game of pub quiz today at That Cuban Place, with several lead changes throughout, but it all came down to the final question. The Phlitches, lovers of all things sports, were able to come up with a correct response and secure the win. In second place we had the Know Nothings, and in third were the Witiots. Thanks for coming out everybody, and we hope to see you all next week!
