A terrific Thursday with Pour House Pub Trivia!
Pour House pub trivia’s Thursday brought you six great games of live trivia on Thursday night!
See how it all went down, gang.
We had a few new faces jump in and give PHT a try down here at Bunker in Leesburg, which is always great to see. Give it up to Belmont Twerk Team for our first category pick at next week’s game. Remember I’ll be handing out invites next week as well. Here are your results:
Your Mom in 1st
Cranius Maximus in 2nd
Thundercats in 3rd
Our first category for next week is 90s One Hit Wonders.
We had em speaking in Swahili at Thursday’s trivia night at Champion Billiards! It was a Kutisha Mchezo for sure! (That would be “awesome game”).
15 teams battled it out in the Champions Center. We had some DuClaw flowing, some good eats a slingin’, the football game, the baseball game. Lotsa fun stuff! Great night!
Game Changing Answer of the Night: “Endocrine System.” Leave it to the ole human body trivia to really get things rattled up in Round 4! And then of course Kirby made a cameo in Round 4 as well!
Great, great game everyone! We had no clue until the final! And the final question did, in fact, swap it all up yet again. Props to Power Vacuum for sniping that final and the W to go with it! That was a tough one. And a great win!
Next week is the final week of Summer Fling. And we kick that one off with a question in the category of “The Republic of Texas.” Have fun studying that one my friends! And have a great Labor Day Weekend! See you soon 🙂 DG
Tonight complete. One more game to go before the end of the summer season! Teams came from all over to have a shot at the top prize AND to add to their summer season scores to qualify for the Summer Tournament which takes place next Saturday, Sept. 12th!
We had a good number of teams keeping the game close tonight, including a new team who held the lead for the first 3 rounds until missing big on a crucial round 4 question that brought them back into the bunch of top scores rather than having a run at the lock game before the final! That team was Title 1 Forever who still held onto 2nd place as we entered the final question despite the mistake in round 4. The final question played very difficult, therefore the teams who bet defensively came out on top. I had 2 zero wagers on the final, they took down our top 2 places. 3rd place went to Drinking While Thinking. 2nd place, with a 0 wager, a little comeback move for Trivia Newton John as a duo tonight! Grats on the placement, good game tonight!
But your winners tonight were Biggus Dickus who played very consistently and used a conservative wager to hang on to the lead at the end of the game! Great game everyone! Hopefully our new teams come back and join us again soon! Vet teams: good luck at the tournament. We have 1 trivia night left until that game commences so hoping to see you all here in a week! Until then 😉
1st Place: Biggus Dickus
2nd Place: Trivia Newton John
3rd Place: Drinking while Thinking
Next week: Atmosphere Science
Thursday night trivia at Guido’s started out really competitive, but by the end of the third round our top 3 teams had pretty much separated themselves from the rest of the pack. But of those 3 teams, how would it turn out?
In 3rd we had a first timer team that I think we’ll be seeing a lot of starting season 12, please welcome the Super Synapses! Fighting hard but still finishing 2nd was Trivia Team 2: Electric Boogaloo!! Back in the 1st place throne once again was T.N.C.!!!
Their pick for next weeks winners choice should really excite some fanboys out there, Lesser Known Jedi Knights will be the category, so make sure you feel the Force flowing through you, and come see us next Thursday at Guido’s Speakeasy!!

Despite 270 traffic and technical difficulties, we managed a rousingly successful return to Pour House Trivia at Lake Linganore! It was great to see old faces and new as we were serenaded by the one and only Jesse Frederick. We waxed poetic about bodily fluids (Mad Beavers, you never cease to amaze me 😛 ), the many different ways in which to tie a knot, and the sexual preferences of a pixelated amphibian. Because, y’know, reasons… 😛
Taking home the top spot tonight was Sloppy Seconds (happy birthday, Molly!) with newcomers Front Line taking second and Moose & Squirrel rounding out third. I’ll see everyone next week under the tent where our winners’ choice category will be Baseball.
See ya next week!
– Eric 😀
In Bocca al Lupo! It means good luck and good luck they had at Main St Oyster House tonight! Who the hell would have guessed that Simba is actually Swahili?? Well played.
It was the Bocca’s in 1st tonight, Anal Bum Covers in 2nd and GrundelHammer finishing up the top 3 with a 3rd. Always a good night out at Main St, thank you for being so kind to the fill in tonight.. I hope you have a fantastic week and Natalie will see you next week for a first category of The Tudors. You can welcome her back with open arms!
It was a night of firsts at Quincy’s in Gaithersburg, as the Breadsticks, playing only for their third game, took down their first win, and in impressive fashion too! They took down 13 other teams and was one of just four teams to get the correct answer on the final question. Blue Collar played a solid game, and took second, while the short-handed John Lithgow Fan Club capped off their night by jumping seven spots on the final question to take third place.
DON’T FORGET! There is NO TRIVIA next week at Quincy’s due to the start of the NFL season! We’ll be back in TWO WEEKS with a question on Soil Science. ~ Matt
