A pre-Thanksgiving Thursday with Pour House Trivia!
Pour House pub trivia had six games of live trivia on this slightly thawed Thursday! The temperature crept up outside, and we helped it get hotter with our night of trivia! Check out the recaps!
Bunkers – Leesburg, Virginia
All it took was a little Ickey Woods question and the WHOOO’s came out tonight for our game of PHT here at Bunker in Leesburg. Nine teams battled it out, and it was Your Mom that came out on top with the win! Thoroughly Confused held on strong and was our 2nd place finishers and Cranius Maximus took down 3rd. No trivia here next week so I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving, and I’ll see you in two weeks, where our first category will be SNL’s More Cowbell sketch! ~ Ronnie
Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD
A little half-time Ickey Shuffle with the teams always spices up a Thursday trivia night! And a cold one at that! That don’t stop us though. We had ourselves a nailbiter of a game at Champoions Thursday night, all the way through! Serenaded, we were, no less, by the likes of Huey Lewis and Daft Punk – thanks to some welcomed and refreshing internet access. Fun night! My answers of the night were:
1. The aforementioned, Ickey Woods!
2. The Spanish Inquisition – cuz history answeres don’t ge the love they deserve
3. Fenway Franks & Dodger Dogs – makes me wanna go to a ball game and grub!
Congrats to our Top 3 crew tonight! That final question “Ickey Shuffled” everything around and we had some ‘jump from behinds’ go down! Here is how the Top 3 looked:
Thanks for coming out and doing that cold with me y’all! Made for an awesome pre-Thanksgiving trivia night! Remember we are NOT on next week anywhere – HAPPY THANKSGIVING! In 2 weeks we are back, however. Enjoy your turkey and mashed p’s my friends…in between servings study a little bit on “Gotham” the TV show. That will be the category #1 when we meet again. See you soon my friends 🙂 dg
Fish Market – Alexandria, Virginia
A special thanks to the gorgeous ladies walking around with the free sample shots! (I personally LOVED the maple one… the maple SHOT not the girl… I had no preference for either of the two women) Tonight’s game saw a huge pre-Thanksgiving crowd with lots of new faces! Smells Like Fish was able to grab the lead just before the final, with Two Birds One Stone holding close in 2nd place. The final question makes the game though! Smells Like Fish was not able to come up with the final answer so, after weeks of seeking their first victory, Two Birds takes it down!!! Congratulations(/it’s about time) 😉 2nd place was Oscar Meyer as a duo who played a very strong game and were also able to snag the final! You’re Killin’ Me Smalls rounded out the top 3 with a 3rd place finish. We are OFF next week for Thanksgiving! So, happy holidays to all (I’ll be in FLORIDA! The sunshine state! Can’t wait 🙂 ) We will be back in 2 weeks for more trivia action!!!
1st Place: Two Birds One Stone
2nd Place: Oscar Meyer
3rd Place: You’re Killin’ Me Smalls
Next week’s category (Dec. 4th) : Seafood!
Guido’s – Frederick, MD
We had some fun at Guido’s last night for trivia! By the end there was a tight race for the top 3 spots, and then we had some movement in those spots after the final question, so this is how the night ended:finishing 3rd was 3 People Who Have Never Been in My Kitchen, dropping to 2nd was Robot Falcon, and moving up to to the top spot for a second week in a row was Stink Floyd!!
Unfortunately there is NO game next Thursday on Thanksgiving, so we’ll use the winners choice category “Marsupials” in two weeks! Everyone please have an AWESOME Thanksgiving with your families, and I’ll see you back at Guido’s in 2 weeks for some Pour House lovin’!!

Main Street Oyster House -Bel Air, MD
Winner’s Choice Next time: People Named Susan
Quincy’s – Gaithersburg, Maryland
To say it was a bit crowded at Quincy’s on Thursday would be a bit of an understatement. A full 18 TEAMS packed the bar for trivia, and despite the full field, our best teams once again put on a steallar performace. Lowered Expectations managed to sneak into the lead by hitting a few two-point bonuses. They held a one-pont lead over two other teams as we headed into the final. Their knowledge of children’s literature (and Canadian geography) paid off, and they took down their second straight win! Blue Collar was forced into a tiebreaker with I Just Quizzed My Pants, but with a ridiculously close respsonse, they secured second place. I’ll be back in two weeks, when our first question will be about Lake great Jerry West! ~ Matt
