A Friday Night of Pub Trivia that was 50 Years in the Making!

Just as Jeopardy! concluded its “Battle of the Decades”, Pour House Trivia staged its own version of the biggest trivia tournament in history, with “Trivia by the Decades” at Belles’ on Friday night.  We spanned a half-century of pop culture, and crammed it all into five exciting rounds of bar trivia.  Sixteen teams battled it out for almost three hours, and even after five rounds, the lead was only separated by just two points.

The final question in this pub quiz was a whopper and virtually every team took the full three minutes, but even then it took a conservative wager by Kajaclueclue (a.k.a Grab a Straw, You Suck) to take down first place!  Second place went to Southpaw Fish, who struggled with the 1990s round, but managed to get the final and jump six spots in the standings to take the silver medal.  After a tiebreaker, One Crow Short of a Murder took third place over FnQ.  What a night of pub trivia! Congrats to our winners and many thanks to all of the teams that came out…and some even dressed up – BRAIN FREEZE wins the Best Costume Contest, having representatives from every decade! HOT HOT HOT! It was certainly a good warm-up for the World Series in three weeks 🙂

1st Place: Kajaclueclue (a.k.a Grab a Straw, You Suck)

2nd Place: South PAw Fish

3rd Place: One Crow Short of  a Murder

Don’t forget about the next Friday night theme game with “Game of Thrones” on June 13.  Thanks again to all the teams that joined us for an extra night of trivia!  Here’s Liz Lemon picking up her Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.   ~ Matt
