Pour House pub trivia’s Thursday night capped off our first week of live trivia for November! Don’t forget to check your inbox for our latest newsletter – we’ve got some AWESOME stuff coming your way soon! Check out the games!
Bunkers – Leesburg, Virginia
Man we had a tight game of live trivia at Bunker in Leesburg again tonight, I mean it was really close! Your Mom was our 1st place prize winners tonight, with Cake or Death right on their heels for 2nd. Give it up to the Washington Foreskins for pulling together a great game for 3rd. Join me again next Thursday night where our first category will be Aaron Sorkin’s The West Wing. ~ Ronnie
Champion Billiards – Frederick, MD
Most definitely a whole lotta love last night at Champions for our November opener of pub trivia at Champions Sports Bar in Frederick, MD. And in spite of some speaker issues we threw down for a bit and had ourselves an awesome Thursday evening! I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed watching this one go down. It was anyone’s game pretty much all night. The scores were close for 2 hours, all the way in to out Tony the Tiger final question which sealed the deal for our winners tonight!
Before I get to that, there were some fun answers in tonight’s set – ones that I haven’t thought about in a while. That’s one of the fun things about hosting trivia – it digs down into some memory compartments that haven’t been opened in a while and gives them a little “mental oil.” That’s gotta be healthy! At the very least its fun. So here are my Top 5 favorite “Lube My Brain and Make Me Remember” answers of the night:
1. Snausages! – easy winner!
2. Ashley Judd – makes me feel like a dog hunting snausages!
3. Anode and Cathode – flashbacks to science class back in the day!
4.”Who Shot JR?” – I was a kid and hooked on this show with grandma!
5. “Tiny Dancer” – could sing it all day!
Fun fun! Thanks for hangin’ tonight everyone! And congrats to our Top 3 this evening! That was a tough game so much props on a game well played.
And that was a game baby! You know that’s true when you leave the bar singing The Jets “You Found Out I Had a Crush on You!” 🙂
Tune in next Thursday as we open up with a fun one – “Triple 50-50: El DeBarge or Menudo!” Boo Yah! I been waiting 5 years for someone to choose that category! Love it 🙂
Have a great weekend everyone…See you soon. DG
Fish Market – Alexandria, Virginia
Tonight’s round of pub quiz saw Two Birds One Stone in first for most of the night, but that final question can mean SO MUCH! Two Birds missed the final and made way for You’re Killing Me Smalls to take the lead! Grats guys 🙂 2nd place went to Oscar’s Lethal Kiss, 3rd to Smells Like Fish. We’ll be back next week, same time same place guys! Thanks a lot, we’ll see ya then! 1st Place: You’re Killing Me Smalls 2nd Place: Oscar’s Lethal Kiss 3rd Place: Smells Like Fish Next week’s category: African Capitals
Guido’s – Frederick, MD
We had a good turnout for pub trivia night at Guido’s! I might have even gotten a new regular team every Thursday! It was a competitive game between the top 4 four teams, but there can only be 3 teams on top and this is how it worked out. Cracking the top 3 for the first time in a WHILE, Ryan, Asian Ryan and Not Ryan held on for 3rd! 3 People Who Have Never Been in My Kitchen finished 2nd and winning the game for the first time in a few weeks was Stink Floyd!! Welcome back to the top spot! They went with “Bass Players” (i.e. Flea, Les Claypool) for the Winners Choice question next week, so study up and I’ll see everyone next Thursday night at Guido’s!! ~ Jon J
Main Street Oyster House -Bel Air, MD
I always have a fun time filling in at Main Street Oyster House. Tonight we had plenty of teams battling it out for a place in the top 3 including 2 brand new teams. It was a close game with a lot of lead changes. A correct 12 point final answer landed Team Icarus in third and Clever Team Name in second. Huge congrats to Cold Cuts for taking first on their very first night! Next week’s winners choice is Current Children’s TV Shows. ~ Amanda
Quincy’s – Gaithersburg, Maryland
Another Thursday night at Quincy’s in Gaithersburg with the usual suspects… We did have one team returning after a long absence, and playing under the new name of Smella Nella, they put up a great performace to take home their first win ever! Great job! Blue Collar was in the running, but got tripped up by the Spice Girls, and finished second. I Just Quizzed My Pants rounded out our top three. Next week begins with a question on Broadway! ~ Matt
